NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 21, 2024)--The Morgan State bowling team competed over the weekend in the second and final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) meet of the season, hosted by Norfolk State University.

The Lady Bears, who competed in eight traditional total pinfall matches over the weekend, went 5-3.

Morgan State (34-40, 7-9 MEAC), began the weekend going 4-1 on Saturday. The Lady Bears opened with back-to-back victories over Maryland Eastern Shore (947-906) and Coppin State (935-852). Morgan State suffered its first loss of the day to North Carolina A&T (958-901), before defeating Norfolk State (949-884) and Howard (901-899) to close out Day 1.

Day 2, Morgan State went 1-2 with back-to-back losses to Delaware State (867-826) and Alabama-Birmingham (875-981). The Lady Bears concluded the event with an 1,002-913 win over Monmouth.

Johnna Hill led Morgan with a total of 1,957 pins for an average of 217.44. Hill, who would finish second in the individual standings, had a high game of 249 against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Carrington Beaman tallied 1,730 pins to place in the top-15 with an 11
th-place finish. Beaman averaged 192.22 pins for the weekend and bowled a high game of 232 in the win over Norfolk State.

Morgan State will be off until March 8-10 when they travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the TNBA/HBCU Invitational.
