ডিজিটাল টেকনোলজির অগ্রগতির কারনে বর্তমানে সার্ভে ডেটা সংগ্রহের পদ্ধতি অনেক আপগ্রেডেড হয়েছে। এখন আর কাগজের হার্ডকপি Questionnaire ব্যবহার অনেকাংশে কমে গেছে, এখন বেশিরভাগ জায়গায় eQuestionnaire ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে। eQuestionnaire তৈরি করাকে এখন Mobile Data Collection (MDC) বলা হয়। অর্থাৎ এখন ড্যাটা কালেক্টরগন মোবাইল ফোন বা ট্যাবলেট ডিভাইসে ফিল্ড থেকে ডেটা সংগ্রহ করে নিয়ে আসেন। MDC ব্যবহার করার সময়, ফোনে বা ট্যাবে ডেটা সংগ্রহ করা হবে এবং বিশ্লেষণের জন্য সার্ভারে প্রেরণ করা হবে। এসআরসিবিডি (SRCBD), মোবাইল ডেটা সংগ্রহের এই প্রশিক্ষণটি SurveyCTO ও ODK Collect টুল দ্বারা পরিচালনা করবে, যা একজন ট্রেইনিকে eQuestionnaire তৈরি ও এর ব্যবস্থাপনা সম্পর্কে দক্ষ করে তুলবে।

Course Introduction:

Technology has introduced new ways of collecting data for monitoring and evaluation that do not require the use of papers such as through the Mobile Data Collection (MDC). Using the MDC data is collected on the phone and transmitted to a server for analysis. This training will equip the participants with skills to author, field, and manage mobile data collection platform using SurveyCTO & ODK Collect.

Data collection has always been an integral part of development work. In the past, this task was performed with paper and pen, which made it prone to error, difficult to conduct on a large scale, and high in transaction costs. ICT tools such as mobile devices and software that allow users to create surveys, collect, manage, and upload data to storage facilities in real-time, have reduced the conventional challenges associated with remote data collection. If you have always wanted to learn how to collect, manage, and analyze project data using mobile devices, this training course is for you.

SurveyCTO is a set of tools that are used for field data collection either online and offline using android devices (phones and tablets) or web browsers and allows data submission to an online cloud server. These tools include SurveyCTO Server, XLSForms, SurveyCTO Sync, SurveyCTO Collect for mobile (android) data collection, and SurveyCTO web-based data collection for online data collection using a web browser.

ODK Collect is an open-source Android app that replaces paper forms used in survey-based data gathering. It supports a wide range of question and answer types, and is designed to work well without network connectivity.

1. To build capacity to formulate structured survey tools in SurveyCTO & ODK collect
2. To increase the efficiency of data collection by using SurveyCTO & ODK collect

This course is for anyone who wishes to learn how to collect, manage, and analyze data using mobile devices.

This course is suitable for mid and junior-level researchers or research students in any organization: government, public, private, marketing and NGOs. Officials of the Research & Development Wing (RND) of any organization and education researchers or research students in educational institutions like colleges, universities, and training institutes can also join.

This online training course in Mobile Data Collection using SurveyCTO & ODK collect will teach learners how to:

=> Build/design survey forms (Digitize questionnaires) in ODK Build and in Microsoft Excel (XLSForms)
=> Upload forms to an Aggregate server
=> Load forms into Collect on an Android device
=> Fill out forms with participants using Collect
=> Collect data offline on mobile devices using SurveyCTO & ODK Collect.
=> Upload and aggregate collected data in a cloud server
=> Visualize, manage, analyze and map data online
=> Download data from the cloud server for further analysis

Senior Research Analyst
Innovations for Poverty Action, Bangladesh (IPA-B)

Mr. Abdul works for IPA Bangladesh as a part of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) productivity data analysis team. He is responsible for RMG productivity data collection and oversees research and document data requirements and data collection policy. He also provides guidelines about the interpretation of the data so that other members of the data team can process and analyze the acquired data. Along with supervising and coordinating the survey team, he is responsible for survey designing and coding, planning, field staff training, survey data cleaning, and primary analysis. Mr. Awal has extensive experience in many projects using SurveyCTO . He has a Master’s in Development Studies and another Master’s in Business Studies.
