SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Western New Mexico University Softball Team finished up a three-game series with #21 Angelo State on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs were defeated 4-0.
Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS) (3-12) earned the start for the Mustangs in this one, going 4.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB and 2 Ks.
Kiya Hamar (Forest Ranch, CA/Pleasant Valley HS) pitched in relief with a line of 2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER and 1 K.
Cheyenne Floyd (16-4) dueled Cordova, going 6.0 IP, 1 H and 7 Ks. Amelia Hatthorn was creditied with the save.
The Ramebelles cracked the 0-0 tie in the fourth inning with double from Lauren De La Cruz, bringing across one run for a 1-0 lead.Â
In the fifth inning Laylonna Appilin tripled to bring in two Rambelles, 3-0. Tatianna Trotter finished off the inning with a sacrifice fly to right field, making it 4-0 Rambelles.
The Mustangs will be back in action on March 28th (1:00 PM MT) at The Yard against the Second Ranked Team in the Nation West Texas A&M.
