So engineering decided to use your product! Congrats! Now, get the champagne and update your ARR in your investor updates! Not so fast. If I had to boil down enterprise sales to two things, it's this: 1. Follow up until you get a yes or a no. 2. Remember, your startup is top of mind for you, but not for them. Let me explain. Early on, you want to reach a clear YES or NO as quickly as possible. A YES allows you to work the deal through the various stages below, while a NO will enable you to move on quicker to finding a YES. Second, your career revolves around your startup as a founder. You know every deal, every interaction, you know every step at where you are at. Now put yourself in the position of the buyer. You are just a product to them. They are looking to buy your solution because it's crucial for them to solve their problem, among the million different things they are also worried about and need to take care of. Stay on top of your buyers and gently remind them. Help them help you to get across the finish line. Stay patient, build a relationship, and remove any friction during the sales process.

Every benchmark is a lie. Well, is that the case? We're seeing many vendors starting to benchmark against WunderGraph Cosmo's fantastic router, and we're also seeing some interesting results 👀 Benchmarking yourself before deciding on performance and trusting what a vendor says are essential. The reason being that with any benchmark, you can always make whatever product you want to be the best in the testing. So take every benchmark from vendors with a grain of salt. We offer benchmarking on our router, but in every conversation with a potential customer, we tell them to benchmark it themselves to understand the performance thoroughly.
