4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 78 ratings

On Light And Other High Frequency Phenomenon is a book written by Nikola Tesla, a renowned inventor, electrical engineer, and physicist. The book delves into the study of high-frequency phenomena, including the nature of light, electromagnetic waves, and radiation. Tesla presents his theories and experiments on the subject, drawing on his extensive knowledge of electrical engineering and physics. The book is divided into several chapters, each covering a different aspect of high-frequency phenomena. Tesla begins by discussing the nature of light and its properties, including its speed, wavelength, and frequency. He then moves on to electromagnetic waves, explaining how they are generated and how they interact with matter.Throughout the book, Tesla presents his own experiments and observations, including his famous experiments with high-frequency currents and his work with X-rays. He also discusses the practical applications of high-frequency phenomena, including their use in wireless communication and power transmission.Overall, On Light And Other High Frequency Phenomenon is a fascinating exploration of one of the most important areas of modern physics. Tesla's insights and experiments remain relevant to this day, making this book a must-read for anyone interested in the study of high-frequency phenomena.THIS 88 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Inventions, Researches and Writings of Nikola Tesla, by Nikola Tesla. In RF discovery he was 80 years ahead of his time. So clever and written in a style that takes you to the time to his world in 1890s were electricity was for most people like magic.

Nikola Tesla wrote this in part to share his philosophy of life and of the universe, and in part to describe how he goes about conducting electrical experimentation. This book is entirely in English, no equations, but if you step back you can see how Tesla is envisioning electrical and magnetic fields interacting with one another to create the phenomena he sees. Too bad no university teaches this subject in this manner anymore! You begin to appreciate how he frames problems, tries to solve them, and then interprets his findings, and iterates!

This is very technical and useful for the technically advanced reader.
Tesla was truly a genius, when taking into account that most of his discoveries were mentally attained. Very few writing processes.
He designed, tested his designs, redesigned and improved them mentally. When thus fully tested, he put the final design on paper for technicians to build the devices according to his specs. Even the calculations were done mentally, often using many laws and formulae.
Not recommended for a casual reader.

Really enjoyed it. Interesting, really information, but over my head. But, I know more about AC frequencies (I had some knowledge about it). My opinion about Thomas Eddison has decreased the more I read about Nikola Tesla.

It's not a bad book, for people wanting to set out learning more about light it'll be a harder read. I found it good but I'm a Tesla fan anyway.
