In Malta another successful PulseCath iVAC 2L case was performed by Dr. Robert G. Xuereb, Chairman of the department of Cardiology and Dr. Matthew M., Dr. Andrew Cassar, vascular surgeon Dr. Petrovic Nebojsa in Mater Dei Hospital and cathlab team. Patient: male, 53 years old, stable angina, DMII, kidney failure, dyslipidemia, hemodialysis, peripheral artery disease, recent myocardial infarction, ventricular arrhythmias, severe aortic stenosis, surgery refusal. 3-vessel disease, unprotected left main, last patent vessel. 90% stenosis of LM and LAD, CTO LCx, CTO RCA. 💡 Complex high-risk PCI & TAVI procedure details: 👉Transaxillary approach - surgical subclavian cut-down insertion 👉Balloon valvuloplasty of the aortic valve 👉Pulsecath iVAC 2L insertion 👉Left main PCI using IVUS 👉TAVI using Medtronic Evolut PRO+ 29mm valve 👌 Same sheath used for TAVI and iVAC 2L Patient was hemodynamic stable during the procedure. Overall PCI support with iVAC 2L was 35 minutes, flow 1.8 liters per minute. ACT target 260. 🚀 Another successful complex high-risk PCI with the support of iVAC 2L, pulsatile percutaneous ventricular assist device, was performed by Dr. Anton Farkas, Director Medical Affairs Cardiology Center Agel, Košice and cathlab team. 👨⚕️ Procedure: male, 79 years old, NYHA class IV, EF 10%, SYNTAX Score 41, elective, Peripheral Artery Disease, Surgery refusal, 3-vessel disease. Vessels to be treated LM, LCx, RCA. Femoral artery was heavily calcified and Shockwave IVL System was used. One stent deployed in RCA. PCI support time with iVAC 2L was 68 minutes, flow 1.8 L/min. ACT target around 309. Femoral artery closed with double Perclose ProGlide closure device. ⚡️Congratulations and thank you to Dr. Anton Farkas and cathlabteam. ⚡️We are pleased to share a new publication: Hemodynamical Evaluation of a New Surgically Implanted Pulsatile Right Ventricular Assist Device Driven by a Conventional Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Console by Dr. Sara Knigge, Dr. Günes Dogan et all. ASAIO Journal 2024. 🔸 New Pulsatile Ventricular Assist Platform, pVAP 🔸 This platform builds on the proven IVAC 2L technology 🔸 Driven by standard IABP console 🔸 Compatible with all available standard cannulas The main findings indicate that the pVAP is feasible and effective. ✅ the output flow of the pVAP is directly influenced by the pressure in the output chamber; ✅ the pVAP produces an output of 2.7 L/min; ✅ the pVAP has a minor, but observable, hemodynamic effect in healthy individuals; ✅ in cases of acute RVF, activating the pVAP significantly improves hemodynamics in both the pulmonary and aortic circulations. 🚩Conclusion: This initial experience with the pVAP prototype demonstrates its feasibility as a VAD and effectiveness in restoring hemodynamics in porcine models of acute RVF. 👉 Full publication: https://lnkd.in/ecgtY4Qk Special thanks to Prof. Dr. J. 🚀A new milestone in Oman. We are thrilled to announce the first protected High-Risk PCI with the successful support of iVAC 2L performed by Drs. Hatim Al-Lawati and Dr. Khalid Al-Saidi Royal Hospital/National Heart Center in Muscat, Oman. 👨⚕️ Procedure: male, 62 years old, EF 20%, NYHA IV, elective procedure with a long LAD and CX calcification. First LAD was rotablated and checked with IVUS, 2 stents have been positioned after the rotablation, and CX was also treated with two stents. Patient remained very stabile during the critical part of the intervention (rotablation ) and the procedure could be performed without any problems. Overall PCI support with iVAC 2L was 73 minutes, average support of 1.2 liters per minute. ACT target around 360. Femoral artery closed with double Perclose ProGlide closure device. 🌟Congratulations and a huge thanks to Drs. 📢 In Poland a new center started with a successful iVAC 2L case, pVAD – Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device. The protected High-Risk PCI was performed by Dr. Piotr Wańczura, Dr. Grzegorz Sobieszek, Dr. Wojciech Stecko, Dr. Wiśniowski in hospital MSWiA Al. Krakowska in Rzeszow. 🏥 Female, 65 years old, EF 50%, indication: urgent ACS, DMII, Hypertension, Kidney Failure, Dyslipidemia, Previous PCI. Vessel to treated LAD. In total 4 stents deployed, IVUS guided procedure. PCI support time with iVAC 2L was 100 minutes, max. iVAC 2L flow 2.0 L/min. ACT target around 400. The femoral artery was surgical closed. 🌟Congratulations to Dr. Piotr Wańczura, Dr. Grzegorz Sobieszek, Dr. Wojciech Stecko, Dr. Wiśniowski and the cathlab team. Pump it … No trivial cases, but by a very strange coincidence, we had to deal with two critically ill patients with almost the same coronary findings in our Kardiocenter #AGEL during one day. Both patients with acute coronary syndrome and heart failure with very low LVEF. Due to the very unfavorable clinical course, we performed OCT-guided coronary intervention with #Xience Sierra DES using the Szabo technique in both patients, followed by treatment of other lesions with optimal results. Due to the very low LVEF between 15-20% and severe co-morbidities in both patients, we performed the procedures with on temporary #MCS #iVAC2L (#PulseCath). With use of this support we were able to maintain the patient's hemodynamic parameters despite the severe coronary findings. Large bore sheat puncture site was close using VCD #Manta. #iVAC2L for us represents a very beneficial clinical tool in the management of severe coronary findings, especially in patients with severe heart failure and acute coronary syndrome. #AGEL #MCS #PulseCath #iVAC2L #Ultreon #Abbott #Manta

🎉 Exciting News from EUKON and PulseCath BV 🎉 We’re thrilled to announce the first clinical use of the iVAC2L device in Regione Emilia-Romagna at the Ospedale “Morgagni - Pierantoni” in #Forlì, Italy. A significant milestone was achieved with a 62-year-old male patient suffering from hypertension and severe cardiac complications. Thanks to the #iVAC2L, we successfully managed critical stenosis and occlusion in coronary arteries with the implantation of 2 Supraflex Cruz DES, ensuring hemodynamic stability without hemolysis.
