April Fools' Day ruse: No Disneyland coming to Clark

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) swiftly addressed the social media post surrounding the purported Disneyland theme park in New Clark City.

Setting the record straight after a wave of inquiries flooded in on Monday, April 1, the BCDA clarified that the Facebook post of a Disneyland development was nothing more than an April Fools' Day joke.

The post, made by Turismo Central Luzon, claimed that a Disneyland theme park was in the works, slated to be built on a 24.7-hectare land in New Clark City, in Tarlac, an ongoing project of the BCDA.

According to Turismo Central Luzon, the proposed Disneyland in the Philippines was said to cost P600 billion and would mark the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.

The groundbreaking ceremony was supposedly scheduled for this afternoon of April 1.

However, readers seeking further details about the alleged Disneyland project found themselves redirected to an April Fools' Day post.
