LINKEDIN CONNECTIONS ARE NOT POKÉMON CARDS! Many of us have over 500+ "connections" on LinkedIn but are NOT "connected" to many of them. One of the practices I strive to do to maintain relationships with my "connections" is taking time daily to "connect" with people. This could be as simple as: 1. Sending a personal birthday message (not the automated prompt from LinkedIn) 2. Video or audio message when someone gets a promotion or starts a new role 3. Send a message about a post they shared 4. Or just send a message to say, "What's up?" and check in. Doing this to 5 of your connections daily will take 10 mins but will help you have a more "EFFECTIVE" connection pool. What else do you do to maintain a relationship with your "connections"? #sales #relationship #selling #linkedin

Love this Donald! This year I've been reaching out to all my 'connected' folk on LinkedIn for this very reason. Now don't get me wrong, I love Pokemon and Pokemon cards 😂... But I definitely want to get to know the people who I'm connected to.

You're right, LinkedIn connections are not collectibles. It's not about the quantity, it's about the quality of your connections. I think another great way to maintain relationships with your connections is by engaging with their content. Like, comment, and share their posts to show your support and interest in their work. This helps to keep your connection alive and also strengthens your own personal brand. It's a win-win situation!

I'm going to try these out, thanks for the recommendations. So far, what I've been doing is scanning through the posts of my connections and taking note of stuff they post that could be of value to me. Then I either react on it or leave a comment.

These are phenomenal Donald C Kelly! I’d add making introductions (where appropriate), actually reading and commenting on newsletters I subscribe to and sending insights/trends when I’ve been granted permission to send info along that would be of interest to name a few.
