Survey for Artists and Artworkers in Yorkshire and the Humber
The information collected from this survey will be used to create a report, which will be shared so that YVAN, organisations and individuals in the region can advocate for better conditions and investment in visual arts.

The data will also be shared with our national Contemporary Visual Arts Network partners to help create a national picture for CVAN England to advocate with government and policy makers. Once published you can access the report from our website. This may take quite a few months to properly analyse the information collected.

Visual Arts South West have developed a set of questions that will enable us to:
- Better understand the needs and experiences of artists and artworkers in the Yorkshire and Humber region
- Gather key data around pay, employment and funding
- Understand and articulate the make-up of the region (who is operating here) to give a clear picture of the sectors diversity and barriers to inclusion.

We want to support informed decision making, and this report will help set priorities for the future of visual arts in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

We anticipate the survey will take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. The responses are anonymous.

There is a growing body of evidence that people from low socio-economic backgrounds are under-represented in publicly funded culture. In line with Arts Council England, we are gathering data about the backgrounds of those currently working in the sector to take steps to challenge the barriers that people face in entering and progressing in the sector.
