Squidward Tentacles is a main character of the animated children’s television show “Spongebob Squarepants.” Squidward lives in the town of Bikini Bottom, in a house between the houses of best friends Spongebob (a sea sponge) and Patrick (a starfish), his neighbors who frequently irritate him with their fun and antics. Squidward works as a cashier at the Krusty Krab, a popular fast food restaurant which is owned and operated by Mr. Krabs, his inconsiderate and penny-pinching boss. Squidward works there with Spongebob, who works as a fry cook. Squidward is often grumpy in general and also irritated at his job and at Spongebob and Patrick. However, Squidward does have fun. He enjoys art, cooking, dancing, biking, relaxing, and playing the clarinet. He likes to see himself as fancy and sophisticated, enjoying various intellectual and artistic pursuits. 

One day, Squidward sees an ad for Tentacle Acres (a.k.a. Squidville), a private gated community designed for people to move away to if they’re fed up with their current living situation. Every house in Squidville is identical to Squidward’s, and the residents are all octopi like Squidward. Amenities at Tentacle Acres include a nice public park, bike paths, clarinet concerts, health food stores that sell canned bread, and interpretive dance classes, all things that Squidward enjoys.
