Alexys Gonzalez
LMHCA, ATR-P, RYT 200 (they/them) Art Therapist, Sex Therapist & Sexuality Educator
What You Can Expect
My multi-disciplinary approach to sex therapy is influenced by my training in art therapy, sex education, painting, philosophy, and yoga. I offer a unique and individualized approach informed by Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Indigenous philosophy, Intersectionality, cycles of nature, Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Expressive Arts Therapy, and Somatic Psychology. I hold the belief that engaging in creative self-expression is healing in itself. In addition to talk therapy, I often invite clients to engage in art-making, movement, music, tarot cards, astrology, journaling, breathwork, meditation, and other tools to engage in self-reflection and processing. As my client, you can expect to increase self-awareness, identify and deconstruct patterns, develop new coping skills, process life experiences and emotions, and better understand the behaviors, patterns, and symptoms most impactful to your life.
