MERCATIQUE, The Marketing Conclave 2023, hosted by MAXIM, the marketing association of XIMB, marked an exciting juncture for professionals, students, and experts to delve into the dynamic world of marketing. The conclave served as a pivotal platform for discussing the power of design thinking to build stronger brands. Our final speaker for the day was Mr. Kartik S., Head of Marketing(Fragrances), Godrej Consumer Products. He emphasized on today's evolving landscape where design thinking transcends superficial aesthetics. He also highlighted how marketing now hinges on delivering value, necessitating a shift from traditional observation. Brands are thriving by immersing in customers' lives, aligning with design thinking's empathetic core. The convergence of marketing and design thinking lies in understanding, solving problems, and perpetually adding value.

Our third speaker in line was Mr. Sidharth Satpathy, Vice President - Category Head (Instamart), Swiggy. He addressed the concept of Design Thinking customer-centric ethos. Swiggy's tremendous growth journey attributed its success to addressing customer anxiety through a track screen feature. He advocated understanding behavior, proactive communication, and innovation for convenience in the competitive food delivery and e-grocery sectors.

He talked about R Elan, Perfomax, and Athleta to demonstrate the convergence of Design Thinking (DT) and brand strategy in business value creation. The key was to understand customer needs, integrate Design Thinking with business strategy for consistent, emotionally connected brand experiences.
