Four earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Four members of the Westminster College men's swimming and diving program were honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors Tuesday. 

Juniors Patrick Benedict (Pittsburgh, Pa., Upper St. Clair), Mason Peck (Cary, N.C., Panther Creek), and Michael Phillips (Saxonburg, Pa., Knoch), along with sophomore Ron Whitehouse (Maryville, Tenn., Maryville), were all recognized. 

Benedict, a marketing and professional sales and sports management double major, carries a 3.64 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). He is a four-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll twice. In the PAC Championships, he finished eighth in the 200 IM (2:07.67) and 200 breast (2:21.14). 

Peck, a creative media production major, carries a 3.52 cumulative GPA and is a Dean's List selection.In the PAC Championships, he finished seventh in the 400 IM (4:32.14) and eighth in the 1650 free (17:49.47). 
   
A finance major, Phillips maintains a 3.62 cumulative GPA. He is a three-time Dean's List selection and has been a PAC Academic Honor Roll selection once. In the PAC Championships, he finished second in the 800 free "A" relay (7:23.37), third in the 400 medley "A" relay (3:35.04), fourth in the 200 medley "A" relay (1:37.60) and 400 free "A" relay (3:19.36), and eighth in the 200 free (1:51.85). This is his second time being named Second Team All-PAC (2021-22, 2023-24).

Whitehouse, a business administration and finance double major, owns a 3.68 cumulative GPA. He is a two-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll once. In the PAC Championships, he finished second in the 800 free "A" relay (7:23.37), fourth in the 200 free "A" relay (1:29.78) and 200 medley "A" relay (1:37.60), seventh in the 200 back (2:04.87), and eighth in the 100 back (57.84). This is his second-straight year being named Second Team All-PAC (2022-23, 2023-24). 

Westminster concluded its season with a runner-up finish at the PAC Championships in February.
