Fosters Fighting FIP

Donation protected

Sarah Crew and Amy De Proft from Myrtle Beach Kitten fosters to help fight FIP. Until recently FIP was thought to be an automatic death sentence. Within the past couple of years, experimental treatments and trials started to take place at veterinary schools here in the US and they showed promising results. Unfortunately the medication they were using to treat FIP in cats is extremely hard to find and **very** expensive.

Daren Watson from Whiskers Animal Rescue has found great success in treating several of her rescues with an experimental treatment.  Sarah and Amy foster for both GSHS and WARS.  When one of Sarah's GSHS foster babies, Beyonce- renamed Atiye, came down with Wet FIP, she reached out to Daren.  Daren had the kitten transferred to her rescue instead of being put down. Together, Daren and Sarah tried the experimental treatment and within 3 days around 14oz of fluid was absorbed saving Atiye's heart and lungs from being crushed.

As a result, other fosters have reached out for help with foster babies. Sarah is trying to help these babies with the experimental treatment. She is currently helping to treat Nugget, Lily, JW, Atiye, and her brother Jett.  We are raising money to help fund the cost for the experimental treatment for all 5 kittens all under 6 months of age.  Please consider a donation today to help us continue the lifesaving work.
