Dibbini Adds Mario Felix to Wildcat Coaching Staff

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State soccer head coach Mike Dibbini has added Mario Felix, an experienced collegiate coach, as an assistant coach on his staff for the 2024 season.
Prior to joining the K-State coaching staff, Felix served as the Kansas Rush Soccer Club girls academy director during the 2023 season.
Felix also brings collegiate coaching experience, as he served as a volunteer assistant at Missouri for the 2022 season and was the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Southern Utah for two seasons from 2020 to 2022. In his first season in Cedar City, Utah, he helped the Thunderbirds to the program's second winning season in program history and the highest winning percentage in school history (.611).
Before making his way to Southern Utah, Felix was an assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara for two seasons in 2018 and 2019. He helped the program to a seven-win improvement from the 2017 to 2018 seasons and aided in coaching the goalkeepers. While in Santa Barbara, Felix coached 10 All-Big West Conference selections.
Prior to his time with the Gauchos, Felix was an assistant coach with Westmont College in Santa Barbara in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) at the NAIA level. During his one season in 2016, Felix helped the program to an NAIA final ranking of sixth in the nation and the GSAC Tournament final. He mentored three United Soccer Coaches All-Region recipients and four All-GSAC first team selections.
Preceding his coaching stops in California, Felix was the head coach at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, for the 2015 season. He guided the squad to a 5-7-2 overall record and improved the team's record by four wins from the 2014 campaign. He oversaw two All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention recipients and five All-KCAC Academic Team selections.
Felix's first stop in the collegiate ranks came at Kansas, as the director of soccer operations during the 2014 season.
Felix holds his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National "B" License and is currently working on his "A" License. He also holds his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) goalkeeping level 1 and 2 certification. He is also a US Soccer Youth National Team Scout and is the National Vice-Chair of the Black Soccer Coaches Community.
Felix earned his bachelor of arts degree in sociology from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. He earned his Mast of Interdisciplinary Studies – business administration, leadership and professional communication from Southern Utah in 2021.
