Story
As you know in 2022 I turned 30 which motivated me back into more regularly adventuring in the beautiful Peak District where I live. Well, after 6 months of hiking in the area I applied to join Buxton Mountain Rescue Team. I am now a trainee hoping to achieve the prestigious 'Red Jacket' this year. So as you can see, 2023 called for setting some new exciting challenges.
Challenge 1 is lose a stone and get myself generally fitter.
Challenge 2 is that I would like to raise £1,000 for the team by climbing all 95 Ethels in the Peak District (The Ethels are all the Peak District hilltops over 400m above sea level). I've set up a justgiving page and I'm aiming to smash my target by Christmas I'll be frequently posting my progress so if you can afford to donate even £1 it will be massively appreciated by me and the team. If you can't donate but you could help raise some money for the team through something such as a sponsored event at your workplace or elsewhere please get in touch! If you can't do either but you can find a moment to share my post and ask your friends to help then you are just as brilliant!
