Job summary

The Trainee Medical Laboratory technician /Technician will work under the direct supervision of a Medical Lab technician and Clinical supervisor to gain hands-on experience in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology. This role will involve assisting in various laboratory procedures, learning essential lab techniques, and adhering to quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will receive guidance and training to develop their skills and working capacity in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate would be able to:

Checking samples to make sure they are in the proper containers.

Perform basic and routine laboratory tests under direct supervision of MLT. 

Receive Centrifuge and Prepare samples/specimens for benches.

Performing routine lab equipment maintenance.

Assist MLTs in Performing daily quality control checks 

Help with administrative tasks when needed 

Entering data into computers under supervision of MLT.

Follow and respect the rules and policies of the hospital.

Having regular attendance.

Commitment and work honesty

Working without gender and ethnic discrimination.

Constant efforts to increase his/her work capacity. 

Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the Lab Supervisor or lab manager.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

A Diploma degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized Institute.
Having a bachelor's degree is a preferred
minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a different section of a medical laboratory.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
Familiarity with national and international laboratory standards and regulations.
