You are cordially invited to join the BIPOC working group of NUGW (Northwestern University Graduate Workers) in attending a community bonding event on Thursday, May 19th from 6:00-8:00pm at TGS Commons!
The BIPOC working group of NUGW aims to create a diverse and inclusive NU campus where we all feel included, empowered and supported in our PhD journeys. Our vision lies in creating better working conditions for graduate students, working towards building more inclusive and supportive learning spaces and achieving higher-pay and improved benefits for students. Specifically, we aim to focus and meet the needs of historically underrepresented graduate student groups (POC, queer, trans, low-income, students living with disabilities and or chronic illness).
For this event, we will be doing some fun individual and group activities focused on embracing our diverse identities, sharing our common goals we have as Ph.D students, and identifying what positive changes our respective communities would like to see at Northwestern. We will have food and beverages for everyone! Come out for a bite and a fun time learning about the power we have as graduate students. Please RSVP using the form below! Thank you!
Note: You do not have to be an NUGW member to attend!
*Due to rising COVID-19 case numbers, we will be requiring everyone who attends this event in-person to wear masks at all time except while actively eating. Additionally, this event has been made into a hybrid event. You may join us virtually at:
