Sinful Hands ended on such a spectacular cliffhanger and Shackled Hearts opens with a grim and emotional reminder of what Lucas had done to Chanel. Immediately I was thrown back to feeling distraught and so upset with Lucas and his despicable father.
This duet was fabulously written and kept me glued to my kindle. Lucas and Chanel are so toxic with each other but are drawn together like a moth to the flame, neither one wants to be together but they just cannot stand to be apart.
I loved this duet and I can’t wait for Joey’s story!

So entertaining

I continue to enjoy this series, not only for the characters -- Lucas is so delightfully extra and Chanel, so confident and spunky -- but also for the thrills and twists in the mafia love story. After Lucas' seeming betrayal, how does this antihero win Chanel's love again, not that he was ever going to give her up?

Between the intrigue, dark humor, and alluring characters, I was fully immersed. Lucas was a shoot first ask question later kinda lover, whether Chanel liked it or not, and once he staked his claim, there was no escape. Watch out as Lucas applied lethal force to remove obstacles in his path to Chanel. Chanel was an excellent counter to the headstrong Lucas, yet both demonstrating softness in their hard-won love. Nothing but explosive chemistry between these fated lovers.

I again enjoyed the side characters, including mafia boss Keir and his wife Sailor from series duet 1 and Chanel's brother and her best friend Merci, even Lucas' father. They were integral to the depth, intrigue, and grittiness of the storyline.

Excellent pace and story progression, I was inhaling this book. What makes this author's books so distinctive is the realism of character behavior. People are flawed; love is not easily recognizable to those who are broken. The journey to love might present challenge including others who by their unfitness make the love interests realize their true love, but hard-earned love is the strongest love.

Great story!

I don't know what to write... Lucas and Chanel's story continues in this installment and it had some nice twists. I read it in one day but still I felt that something was missing. I don't know what, still I enjoyed reading it.

***4 "Forever Mine!!" stars***

AVAILABLE!!!

"I had thought I could see something between us, then it was torn away by a vicious lie."

I was anticipating the second part of this crazy, intense and obsessive story since the moment I finished reading the first part, especially while it ended in a huge cliffy that made me question everything that I thought I knew before!!!!
The second part came to us with mighty force and Lucas with Chanel threw curveballs our way full of angst...
I was sitting on the edge of my seat since the very first moment and I was rewarded by the author in the end!!!

"She was and always will be mine. Forever mine..."

Lucas betrayed Chanel in the worst possible way!!!
Now, Chanel is angry and she doesn't ever wanna see him again, since he shattered her trust, along with her heart...
Lucas is frustrated. He was supposed to give her up, but a taste of her was never going to be enough for him...
He knows he fucked up, but Chanel is a stubborn girl!!! Together, they are toxic and they need to stay away from each other, but can they???

"I know that Lucas Rossi is bad for me. Not just bad for my head but bad for my heart. He has the power to shatter it into a million pieces."

"My little vixen. She has shackled my heart and ruined me beyond repair."

I can not say much more about this book, other than this story was intense and there were happening too many things that had the power to keep Lucas and Chanel apart...
Lucas was cold, ruthless and unpredictable... Whatever Lucas Rossi wants, he gets it, but this time he had run out of luck... Chanel is different and he can not let her go...
Chanel was a woman that knew how to fight her way in life and she was determined to turn around her shitty life... Lucas is dangerous for her and her heart and she needs to let go of him...
Will these two manage to overcome the endless obstacles that were standing between them and trust their fucked up hearts on each other's hands???

"We know we shouldn't work. We break, destroy, unravel each other until we can't see straight."

These two were the epitome of toxic, but I really loved their crazy ride...
They were unapologetic of their actions and they were feeling everything in the nth degree...
They could bring so easily destruction on each other's life...
But they were also too blind to realize that what they were feeling toward each other was something that not everyone can find easily!!!

"Our souls are black... mine is rotten, yours is tarnished. But together, we work..."

I love this duet!!! I loved this series!!!
I love seeing Keir and Sailor for once again!!!
I love witnessing this crazy world full of lies, betrayals and blood!!!
I can not wait for Joey's turn!!! I am positive that his story will be thrilling!!!!

"No love is easy. Sometimes, the best kind of love is hard and fucked-up."

I was eagerly anticipating this conclusion and it delivered. Lucas and Chanel were undeniably meant to be.

The ultimate betrayal. A delayed moment of conscience. Forgiveness. A connection that surpasses love. A Happily Ever After on the darker side of life.

Chanel is angry but she's going down swinging. Lucas is not who she thought he was. It's time to take control of her own life.

Lucas quickly realizes his mistake, but it's going to cost him. Much more than he was willing to lose. Letting her go has never been an option.

This is a twisted tale of obsessive love between a mafia hitman and a woman who has had to fight her whole life. It's dark and twisted. There connection was never going to be normal. Lucas definitely pushes limits and takes what he wants. Completely fearless, yet he has met his match with Chanel.

This is an up and down journey. Past hurt and betrayal will dominate the storyline, but new beginnings and forgiveness will prevail. Lucas will find his redemption as he risks everything to get what's his. She has always been his....forever.

A satisfying conclusion to the Chanel and Lucas saga! After a tortuous betrayal, can this dark and delicious anti-hero find a way back to Chanel? And will she be the same woman he knew before- or has what he’s done changed her heart?

Both of these characters are so fun- Lucas is just ridiculous and over the top in in the best kind of caveman way, and I loved watching Chanel keep her sass and strength. We have a great mixture of mafia suspense and twists while also giving us some great steam and few swoony moments. Every book and this series has been fast-paced, consuming, explosively sexy. The characters are dynamically flawed and engaging- and you root for them through all their volatile chemistry. Not to mention, I loved getting to spend time with characters past and future.

Their HEA certainly wasn’t an easy pathway, but that is what made it so fun and rewarding. I love TL’s broken characters and the ways in which love redeems and strengthens them. Can’t wait for more in this series!

⚠️ New Mafia Release Alert ⚠️

If you love a mafia story where the villain gets the girl, you NEED to check out T.L. Smith’s mafia series! Shackled Hearts is the second book Lucas and Chanel’s duet after that first one left off with a HUGE cliffhanger.

These books are probably some of the most entertaining mafia stories that I have read. Just when I think the story is not going to go there, T.L. Smith takes it there! Lucas is pretty unhinged and terrible but Chanel always puts him in his place. He is head over heels for this girl and Chanel is having none of it after the ultimate betrayal of the first book.

There were so many unexpected twists that I honestly didn’t see coming. I just kept yelling, “WHAT?!” There was a weird part at about 80% that felt very rushed and all over the place which had an affect on my rating. Besides that part, this book was really fun and I definitely recommend it!

Thank you Wildfire Marketing Solutions and T.L. Smith for sending me this ARC for review!

“Why, because I fucked your father?”
“No, mia per sempre. Because… you killed him.”

“You smell…” he comments as I get in, then he shuts the door behind me without finishing.
Or does he actually mean I smell?

What an intense start to the second half of this duet, but I expected nothing less! So much happens straight away it is incredible and you experience a range of emotions just in that beginning section. (I was cheering Chanel on all the way😉)

This story is terrific because it is so unpredictable, lots of things happen that you literally don’t expect and I always find that makes stories so exciting. This whole duet is excitement plus with such interesting and diverse characters, a fast paced storyline and amazing descriptions that leave you in no doubt of what is transpiring.

Lucas is Lucas, there’s no other way to describe him! 😄 Chanel really grows in this story but then again we can see growth in Lucas too to a degree. Both are absolutely perfect for each other and yet are like opposing magnet ends at times. (I wanted to give them a gentle slap or two, 😆 which is an improvement because I could have strangled him at the end of the first book!)

The next story will be great as Joey gets his turn, now each time I read one of this author’s books I think… how can she top this book? But she does or equals it. I am intrigued by Adora and how she will fit with Joey, bring it on!

SWEET BABY JESUS!!!!
I can NOT get enough of all of these characters!!
Ok, we all know Lucas was a lil cray cray from book one, but let me tell you..... Shackled Hearts makes book one look tame TAME I tell ya.
There is SO many twists and turns to this conclusion I was totally blown away with everything that took place and I am STILL in awe of the magnitude these characters will go through for loyalty AND Love and believe me when I say they will DO ANYTHING when the people they love are threatened.
T.L Smith TOTALLY blew this duet out of the water and I CAN NOT wait to see what mischief Joey gets into next!!

What a ride! I really wondered how Lucas and Chanel would get to their HEA and there were some twists!

This one picks up right where the last book ended. Chanel is such a boss! Does she wallow? Nope, she's trying to figure out how to get out of the situation she's in.

Forgiving Lucas is not an option, especially after his betrayal.
Deep down she still cares for him maybe even loves him and her body definitely still craves him.

But there will be consequences. Lucas has been lying to his boss Keir about his father's whereabouts.
That's all you get, go read the book!
Definitely read Sinful Hands before you dive into this book.

Thanks so much to the author and Wildfire for this ARC to review.

After the explosive cliffhanger, part two is here with more Lucas and Chanel. Will Chanel find a way to break free and ever trust again after Lucas’ betrayal? Lucas may have a darkness within but has Chanel put a crack in his black soul? When you think you know evil, something worse is always lingering in the shadows. Oh Lucas, you are such a naughty, naughty man and I’m here for it! “Does She See The Monster That Everyone Else Sees?”This is a dark romance with even darker themes so be warned. Lucas and Chanel are the perfect combination of chaos. Get ready for a wild ride and a few shocking surprises! I just could not put this one down! Told in dual POV

This book was insane. So much better than the first 3 books! Don't get me wrong the rest of the series was good but this book just hit the spot.

There are points where you want to scream and cry and shout (especially at keir). You find even more love for Sailor.. and lucas.. well that man is absolutely insane <3

I love that it hit some hard subjects like ptsd, it really made the story realistic ♥️ cant wait for the next duet ♥️

Heartbreakingly Beautiful
Such pain
Such betrayal
Such confusion and unknown.
Lucas Rossi is a dangerous man who seems to have a obsession that may end up destroying Chanel.
This mafia lifestyle is all he knows. Lucas discovers that his life is truly not his own.
Chanel's life has never been a easy life.
Twisted and unpredictable this face paced mafia read will keep you captured and intrigued by the characters and where they will go from here.
Looking forward to reading more.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...

4.5 stars

Well I couldn't wait to read this book and I wasn't disappointed. As you know Sinful Hands ended on an interesting note and I couldn't wait to see how Chanel would make them pay. I was totally expecting her kicking Lucas' butt or at least his man parts, but no, not our Chanel she went for his metaphorical jugular. I couldn't believe what I had read and I just loved her all over again and Lucas was definitely not my favorite person for a bit.

I just loved the dynamic of Lucas and Chanel, they were toxic af, but they fit each other in a way that only worked for them which was oddly sweet to see. To say Lucas was in uncharted waters with Chanel is an understatement and I enjoyed watching him flounder about, while at the same time Chanel wasn't making it easier on him.

The whole Keir "scene" (when you read it, you will know what I am referring to) was so childish (for them) and created more drama than it was supposed to. Quite honestly though, that scene made me like Lucas again and his crazy self.

I can't wait to read Joey and Adora's book, it will definitely be interesting ;)

The grammar isn’t that great and the 2 main characters have the same conversation the entire book. I don’t know why or, tbh, how I finished this lol. It has some small aspects I liked but overall I think it could’ve used some heavy editing.

I rate this 3.5 ⭐️ this rating and review is for both books in this duet (enemies to lovers, serial killing mafia hottie falls for straight-laced prostitute, fairly vanilla, m/f, monogamy, quality of spice, 3.75/5, quantity of spice 3.5/5) The writing isn’t great and the serial killer MMC was not it for me.

The dynamic is basically the same as the first duet- the FMC spends the entire time sassing and resisting the MMC instead of giving us any romance or spice and the only difference is that in this duet, she has a very good reason to resist him and keep resisting him; he’s quite literally a serial killer and has admittedly killed the majority of the woman that he has been sexually involved with just simply because he grew bored, “their smell changed” and that’s what his father did, not to mention he tells and implies to her repeatedly that he will kill her when he is done with her.

This character has no remorse for killing innocent people or woman and only refrains from it when he is ordered to by his cousin who is the mafia boss. There is pretty much no redeeming qualities for this character or circumstances that justify his actions- other than the fact that he grew up being taught by his father to act like this… but that’s hardly an excuse.

I’m not a sensitive person, I have no triggers in literature other than graphic animal or child abuse and I am very good at separating fiction reading from what is acceptable in reality, but I feel like I prefer my serial killer MMCs to be more Dexter than Dahmer. This MMC collects pictures of the dead woman he’s killed and keeps them in a shoe box and even uses the pictures to make paintings of them. Ummm, yeah, no. Again, I know this is fiction, but come on… no human that is capable of that kind of behaviour and who admits he feels not one single shred of remorse, is capable of, all of a sudden, being a normal person because he fell in love. Someone capable of that is a clinical psychopath and incapable of flipping a switch back to normal land with no medication or therapy.

But hey, we can pretend that love conquers all, including pathological brain functioning, and serial killers can have a happy ending for the sake of fiction, right?!

Although I rated this duet the same as the first in this series, I did find it a teeny tiny bit better, but not by much. The dynamic between the couple was the same as the first; however, this plot was a little more unique, which I won’t elaborate on in case you decide to read the books. The more unique plot didn’t completely save it though- the writing was still not great, in fact, it was one of those series where you start off writing a list of all the examples of poor writing and things that don’t add up, but then the list gets so long that you give up and just decide to simply state that you don’t like the writing, PERIOD.

P.S. The next duet will be completely out by the end of September and I’m probably still going to read it because I hate not finishing a series and I’m a tiny bit attached to the characters- call me a glutton for punishment 😆

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Note 2: This is a series, but the second two chained hearts books: Lucas and Chanel's books are a duet. So please read in order -as previous characters do make cameos.

Trigger warnings: assault, negative words against sex workers, cheating, violence, knife play, sociopaths involved, betrayal, murder, drug use, gambling, head trauma.

Review of the previous book (Sinful Hands) to just let you understand what sort of a devil Lucas is haha: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Okay, so the level of depravity and utter chaoticness Lucas can get up to, apparently has no bounds. But this time Chanel has an actual backbone and is all too ready when it comes to resisting Lucas and other depraved beings around this planet - and I love her for that just a little more than before.

But obviously we know Lucas has no qualms about being the next dexter or dan. And neither do I considering I loved him too much and his psychopathic tendencies - probably this shows I do not enjoy em normal. And he's way too desperate for Chanel to not be who he is so yeah.

The plot just moves along, tragedy by fucking tragedy, and of course Lucas, lucas, lucas. And of course the side characters were absolute fun too, so yeah it was wonderful to see them too.

The romance and steam was too forbidden, hooottt, and made me want to interrupt them bad, cause I wanna be the girl, not chanel, okay?

Overall, loved this twisty, scary, and way too entertaining novel with f-ed heroes and heroines who just can't help themselves.

And neither can I.

Until the next read,

-TMR

This is book 2 in the Chained Hearts Duet and cannot be read as a standalone. You’ll need to be sure to read part 1 first to understand this one.

We left off book one on a major cliffy with Lucas betraying Chanel and leaving her in an awful situation. Chanel however is a survivor. She’s spent her whole life fighting and she’s not going down easy.

On top of what he did to Chanel, Lucas also lied to his boss, Keir and the ramifications for that are slightly better than death. With no choice but to abide by his punishment Lucas and Chanel’s lives fork in opposite directions.

But you know what they say about fate. If it’s meant to be it’ll be. Lucas storms back into Chanel’s life unexpectedly to find a very different woman in many ways than the one he left but very much the same in others. With circumstances still holding them apart can Lucas convince Chanel to fall for him a second time? Or are some wounds too deep to recover from?

I was unsure about this couple in book one but they won me over in book two. Chanel’s character development in this one was so gratifying and though I could have used more of a grovel from Lucas I also understand that’s not who he is as a person and that works for them. This is definitely not your traditional romance couple. They are dark and twisty but equally drawn to one another..

Speaking of twisty expect the unexpected with this one. Just when I thought I had a handle on what was happening she pulled the rug out from under us. This one is fast paced too so you won’t have much time to wonder what’s happening before it does.

If you’re a fan of dark romance and you’re looking for a couple that will have you on your toes I would definitely check this one out. Thanks to TL Smith and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an early copy to review.

5 can I have him stars!!

This is book two in the “Lucas & Chanel Duet” and can not be read as a stand alone .

DAMN YOU T. L. SMITH!! Omg I didn’t think I was gonna let that bastard win me back over, but that sexy beast got me. Lucas is my cup of tea. I love these characters so much!!

This story picks up right where we left off on last book. And my heart was ready for the fight. I knew he would make it right in his own way (I won’t say anymore don’t wanna ruin it). Chanel is a beautiful and strong woman. I adore her and I am so glad she embraced what SHE wanted.

Once again this author makes you laugh, cry, get angry and wet all at the same time. This was a fast read for me. I mean I was hooked and obsessed. Read it!!

Lucas and the Chanel Graduation - The Love Story of the Mafia.
The anti-hero Lucas, the person whose word love does not appear in the dictionary, suddenly opens up completely and learns what true love is.
After his terrible betrayal of Chanel, do not think I was able to forgive him. But slowly he weaves his way back to Chanel's heart. How does that happen? You will have to read. T.L. Smith brings this up in an unconventional way.
Chanel for me is the real heroine, despite her past, and her occupation first and foremost the family comes first. Even if she is unable to forgive Lucas in the end love wins it all.
Between the intrigue, the dark humor, and the seductive characters, I was completely immersed. Lucas and Chanel were the most unconventional couple I have read. On the one hand, they both showed strength and on the other hand, the tenderness in love for each other made up for it all.
And so love for me always wins.
Go read and you will not be disappointed.

I couldn’t wait to dive into this after been left hanging at the end of book one. This is going to be short and vague, mostly because I’m still trying to make sense of how I’m feeling. Lucas has me all tied up. I don’t know what I think about him. I’m all about the men in my books and I love me a bad guy but Lucas….Lucas is in a category all of his own. He’s a bad man and if you’re thinking he’s going to change his ways, spoiler alert: he doesn’t. He isn’t one of those bad guys with a soft side hidden beneath a hard exterior. He isn’t going to redeem himself. He doesn’t care and it’s best you accept him the way he is. Not going to lie, he makes it hard to like him at times with some of the stuff he does and yet here we are with me liking him. Chantel is the perfect match for Lucas. If anyone can handle him and his lifestyle, it’s Chantel. I loved her in the first book but she really comes into her own in this one.

I loved this duet. Lucas and Chantels story is dark, addictive and I definitely recommend it.
