Queer Voices Filmmaking workshop (4th edition) - Application form
The Queer Voices International Film Festival, 4th edition, invites filmmaking enthusiasts from the Moldovan queer community, supporters of the LGBTQIA+ community and every interested person in the field with any filmmaking background to be a part of the Queer Voices Filmmaking Workshop, that will take place between 29 November - 5 December, 2021. The goal of the workshop is to encourage individuals interested in film in raising awareness about the challenges the Moldovan and global queer community faces every day. You will be working with filmmaking professionals and renown queer cinema tutors. You will be guided through the way of documentary filmmaking, by improving your technical and thinking skills, and by challenging your inner-selves to discover new ways of making the queer community stronger than ever.
The trainer for this edition is Panagiotis Evangelidis, writer and director, known for They Glow in the Dark (2013), Xenia (2014) and Irving Park (2019).
Requirements:
— The participants belong to the LGBTQIA+ community, and also to its supporters that may or may not activate in an NGO or organization that fights for the LGBTQIA+ rights;
— Priority will be given to applicants who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova;
— Participants are proficient in English;
— Participants will respect the security measures imposed by the Health Commission of the Republic of Moldova and will provide one of the following papers in order to assure a safe environment for all their workshop colleagues: 1) A vaccination paper that proves the participant has taken one of the vaccines approved by WHO; 2) A negative PCR test taken maximum 72 hours before the workshop dates; 3) A stamped medical test that proves the participant had COVID-19 in the last 180 days.
The participation is free of charge. The organisers cover the accommodation expenses and most of the meals (lunch and coffee breaks). Each participant covers their transportation fees.
English is the official language of the workshop; Applicants guarantee they are able to communicate freely in English.

The workshop will take place in Chișinău in offline format, with certain online sessions.
The workshop will result in a few film pieces created by our participants. The films will be presented in the last day of the Queer Voices International Film Festival.
*Applications that do not include all required materials and/or do not respect the deadline will not be considered.
*A preselection zoom call will be organised with each eligible applicant
*Participants will be notified of their acceptance on no later than the 28 November 2021
*All the answers to the application questions will remain confidential. Personal data will be processed by the Queer Voices team exclusively for the filmmaking workshop communication. The data will not be transmitted to the third parties unless the participant agrees to it.
