In summary of what the issues were.
1. Network speeds were well below the 1Gb/s advertised
2. USB 3.0 devices connected to the dock were connecting to a USB 2.0 hub/speed according to the Mac
3. High pitch whine when connecting to the audio jack on the dock
4. Video response time was laggy on monitors connected to video ports 2 & 3
After working with Minisopuru support it was determined that the dock that I received was defective. Thank you to Kevin on their support team who spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting with me. Not only did they refund me for the defective dock, they sent me a new dock at no cost. The new dock resolved issues 1, 2 & possibly part of #4
The remaining issues I have are not specifically related to the dock itself. Issue #3 is a high pitch whine when connecting audio to the dock. This appears to be an issue with my DisplayPort KVM and its audio cables and how it works with the dock, not the dock itself. This wasn't the case on the previous dock I had. I found a work around using equipment I already had that resolved this to my satisfaction.
The second remaining issue has to do with the performance of the DisplayLink chip set and drivers. The screen performance can be laggy on monitors connected to video ports 2 & 3. According to DisplayLink support this is due to how the DisplayLink software and chipset provide support for 3 monitors. For me I moved the monitor connectors around so my primary monitor was connected to video port 1. Since the dock uses USB to transport the video signal from the MacBook to the monitors I suspect the defective dock contributed to this issue but I think this is mainly due to limitations of the DisplayLink technology which may be be improved with driver updates.
Again, thank you to Kevin on their support team for working with me to find the cause of and a resolution to these issues.

Review update:
After spending a few days with this dock it has been removed from my environment. Not only was I experiencing lagging video with the monitors not connected to port one on the dock as I mentioned below I also found that the physical ethernet network connection was limited to 250Mbps, not 1Gbps, and ALL the USB 3.2 ports on the front of the dock are actually USB 2.0 and only provide 480Mbps of bandwidth/speed. I've included screen shots from my Mac System Information screen showing what is in the dock. A USB 3.2 connected device should have, as they claim, 5Gbps speed when connected to the dock. That is not the case when connecting to this dock. The screen shot showing 5Gbps is when I connected the SSD to the MacBook itself.
I contacted support about all these issues and they tried to explain the issues away. For the network speeds they said I wasn't using a "Super 6" ethernet cable and that was causing my problems. I tried multiple cables with the dock, all of which provide full 1Gbps bandwidth when connected to other devices no issue. So it's not the network cable.
I believe Minisopuru KNOWS that this dock doesn't provide what they claim based on the fact that after the 2nd email to support discussing my issues (before I found the network speed issues and USB port issues) they offered me a full refund for the dock. If the dock performed/provided what it claims I would expect them to offer a replacement since it was defective. The offer of the refund is the ONLY positive thing I can say about Minisopuru.
If you don't believe what I'm saying check for yourself. On the Mac go to System Information and select USB and look at the dock USB ports, they will show they are USB 2.0 ports. A USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 device will show as being that version. Network wise, if your internet speed/bandwidth is above 250Mb/s visit a speed test site on the internet and see what speeds you get.
**** old review ****
I got this dock to connect my new 16" MacBook Pro to my three monitors on my desk, USB-A devices, physical ethernet connection, and speakers. Only the USB-A device connections have not caused me issues. I will start with the least annoying issue:
The physical ethernet connection is not connecting using the USB 10/100/1000 LAN as is listed in the question section on Amazon site, instead it shows up and connects with USB Display??? Talk about not making sense.
Audio wise when connecting the audio jack on the front of the dock to my DisplayPort KVM there is horrible feedback. This could be with the the KVM itself but I didn't experience this with the previous dock I had so I'm not sure if it is the KVM or the dock. I can work around this.
The worst issue is the screen performance, and one I don't think I can work around it. On the monitor connected to port one on the dock the animations, moving windows, etc is a smooth as it is when connected directly to the MacBook. On monitors 2 and 3 it is a different story. Anything that moves too quick on the screen, like dragging windows, minimizing/maximizing animations are choppy/laggy very noticeably. I have the latest DisplayLink drivers installed and tried different screen resolutions with no change. I have emailed both Minisopuru and Displaylink support about this. Hopefully they will have a resolution for it. If not, this might be show stopper for me.

It works perfect. I didn't realize I need to install a driver to make the dock work with the 3 displays, but after that, all display works fine. My setup is one 4K display and 2 2K displays, and there's no flickering or random black screen that I experienced with USB C hubs that I had, so I'm very satisfied.

“ I originally bought this device so I could dual monitor. If you are looking for dual monitor then this works on Macbookpro M2 13 inch. Obviously this limits the streaming of netflix or prime video etc because of displaylink
For my device, it takes pretty slow to wake up my external monitors.
I also have audio problem, idk if its dock problem or my device problem
Everytime I close my laptop to use on clamshell mode, it turns my monitor display off for couple seconds which seems annoying
Ofcourse all of these small issues can be resolved one way or other but depending on price, it just seems too bothersome for me. It could be different for your case. Other than that the device have very good quality feel and looks amazing. However I will be returning this once I get my other hub. “
If you update the software on you MacBook, you might have to uninstall and then reinstall the Display link software, in case it stops working after you update your IOS.

This is a hybrid display link docking station. 1 video output isn’t display link at all - which allows you to use it without the drivers. This also allows it to be used with your phone - and boot up samsung DEX, or just have a larger screen with a keyboard and mouse. At least one of the other two outputs do use display link, and as such you need to install the drivers for it. The great thing about display link is that it works like an external graphics card. This means it’s not loading up your usb c port, and also means you can run that video output off of a USB A for these displays. The third great thing is for the Mac guys that can’t run different things on multiple displays. If you don’t need display link for one of these reasons, then you should be saving yourself $100+ and buying something else.
I do love that the guides and manuals are listed in the ad and can be downloaded prior to purchase. I wish more companies did that! The unit itself is solid and has some weight behind it. It’s just a little bigger than my cell phone and about twice as thick. It comes with it’s own power supply, which needs to be used, but powers the unit only. USB charging your laptop requires a second power supply - which worked fine for my computers that draw 65w (rated at 100W). The unit itself draws about 2.2W when not in use, and about 3.3 when it is. It does get a little warm, but definitely not hot.
I love that it comes with the necessary drivers on a USB key - and it also includes a usb A to USB c adapter if you are using it with an older computer (like I am). On that note - I used the drivers, and everything worked - except if the computer went to sleep I would get no monitors when it turned back on. I’d have to do a hard reset. Even after unplugging it I had the same issue. This was with windows 11, however a system restore fixed it back up (temporarily I just had to do a hard reset). The next time I used the display link drivers found on the internet and didn’t have that issue. It may have been a one off, or unrelated, but I would still suggest using the ones online, and they do direct you there in the literature as I don’t think I’m supposed to/allowed to endorse/link other websites in a review.
Like I said in the title - nothing fancy about it - it just works. Using USB A I did get a max of 4k at 30Hz, so I went to 2k at 60 Hz. This restriction doesn’t apply to usb C applications. It included everything I needed - the usb c double ended cord, USB A to C adapter, and the required 12V 3A power supply with barrel connector.
Unlike the vast majority of docks out there, this is one of the few USB-C docks that supports triple monitors (albeit with limitations, read on) via HDMI, DP, and either HDMI or DP as the 3rd display, along with a full set of other ports (GigE, 1x USB-C/5 Gbps, 2x USB-A 3.0/5 Gbps, 2x USB-A 2.0, and 3.5mm etc). Unfortunately, it doesn't have any USB 3.2 Gen 2/2x1 (10 Gbps) ports which is a bit of a disappointment.
It has 2x USB-A 3.0 ports (@ 5 Gbps) with 2x USB 2.0 (@ 480 Mbps) ports which is good and the 2 USB-A 2.0 ports are capable of providing 7.5W (5V/1.5A) for somewhat low-powered devices should you have the need for it. For reference, ordinary USB-A 2.0 ports are only capable of 2.5W (5A/0.5A) while ordinary (i.e. non-charging capable) USB 3.0 ports are only capable of 4.5W (5V/0.9A). 1.5A should be sufficient to charge all modern cell phones at an acceptable rate (as last resort) when no QC is available.
The lack of USB 3.1 10 Gbps ports means it can't fully take advantage of the faster external M2 docks (NVMe/SATA) and/or other high speed devices that's faster than 400-500 MB/s (limited by USB 3.0). Though, it does have all the other typical ports such as GigE and 3.5mm that many other docks (more than 7 ports or so) do include as well.
≡ Triple monitor
Not surprisingly, the most important feature of this dock is its ability to support 3 monitors from a total of 4 ports (HDMI, DP, and HDMI/DP); however, this is NOT without limitations (requires DP 1.4 for 60Hz, 30Hz with DP 1.2) just like all other docks out there. What's unique about this particular dock is that it supports the use of displays without USB DP Alt mode which is excellent for older computers and/or laptops. The max resolution and refresh rate is 4K@60Hz across all 3 monitors. I don't have 4K@60Hz monitors to test but it does work without issues with 2x monitors running at 4K@60Hz.
I should also emphasis again that the beauty of this particular dock is that you can use ordinary USB 2.0/3.0 ports to add more monitors without relying on the HDMI/DP ports on your computer nor will you need a full-featured USB-C port to use this dock. However, you WILL need an USB-C port that supports DP Alt mode in order to use 3 monitors and specifically to use the FIRST HDMI port.
≡ DisplayLink
So how does this work? Well, the very short version is that the first HDMI port is your ordinary HDMI port that requires USB-C port (from your laptop) supporting video out (i.e. DP Alt mode) and the remaining 2 ports (DP + HDMI/DP) are driven by DisplayLink technology which isn't new but it essentially provides a way to add more monitors by utilizing existing USB 2.0/3.0 connections, CPU, and additional drivers (which are REQUIRED to use the 2nd and the 3rd monitors).
What this means is that if your laptop is connected to this dock via USB-C port capable of DP Alt mode, you can make use of all 3 ports; otherwise, the FIRST HDMI port on the dock won't be available but you can still use 2 monitors with 4K@60Hz via the remaining 2 ports (DP and HDMI/DP) on the dock. Note that you don't need an USB-C port on your laptop or computer to use this; an ordinary USB-A port would work just fine although USB 3.0 is preferable for obvious reasons (i.e. higher bandwidth).
✔ This essentially allows you to extend or add more monitors to any OS that supports (i.e. drivers available) and these include Windows, Mac OS, Ubuntu, Android, and Chrome OS. Note that I haven't tested 'em all but they should all work as long as you can get the drivers installed and operate properly. The drivers for DisplayLink can be downloaded directly from Synaptics website.
Note that high speed and quality cables (HDMI and DP) are also needed so check your system spec and other hardware first to make sure they can fully take advantage of what this dock offers.
Lastly, this dock must be powered via DC barrel connector or else it won't work and if you intend to charge your laptop while it's being used, you need to connect this to an appropriate USB-C wall charger capable of charging your laptop. The provided DC power source can NOT be used to charge your laptop and it's ONLY used to power the dock and to provide power to its peripherals (USB etc).
≡ Specs & features
* 1x Power 100W (via AC/DC adapter using barrel connector, included)
* 1x ?W PD (Output); max 85W during tests
* 1x HDMI, 1x DP, 1x HDMI OR DP (4K@60Hz)
* 1x GigE
* 1x USB-C @ 5 Gbps
* 2x USB-A 3.0 @ 5 Gbps (5V/0.9A)
* 2x USB-A 2.0 @ 480 Mbps (7.5W, 5V/1.5A)
* 1x 3.5mm port
≡ What I like
✔ Triple-display support with 4K@60Hz which few others support at the moment (though more have come aboard recently)
✔ Capable of utilizing USB interfaces to extend display without HDMI/DP Alt mode ( the BEST feature)
✔ Supports triple- or dual-monitor (4K@60Hz)
✔ Plenty of USB ports (1x USB-C/5 Gbps, 2x USB-A/5 Gbps and 2x USB-C/480 Mbps)
✔ Nice and clean physical build and appears to be well made
✔ Relatively compact and portable - though it is noticeably larger than most other 4K capable USB-C docks
✔ Semi-Plug'n'Play - I was able to use it right away without issues (drivers are required however)
≡ What I don't like
✘ NOT as cost efficient as some others
✘ Doesn't have USB 3.1 ports (USB-C or USB-A) rated at 10 Gbps to support high speed external drive dock (i.e. M2 NVMe)
✘ Incapable of providing more than 90W power via PD3 which some other docks do support
✘ Runs a bit warmer than expected when in high load/charging (most of 'em do as well)
≡ Value
All things considered, this is a fairly decent USB-C docking station that's well built (in comparison to most other docks out there) and it's capable of triple monitor (or at least dual-monitor without DP Alt mode) with plenty of USB ports (1x USB-C and 2x USB-A @ 5 Gbps) along with a GigE port and 3.5mm port.
It's somewhat reasonably priced at $227 for what it provides and its overall build quality and performance. However, it is more expensive than ordinary USB-C docks without DisplayLink technology which is a fair trade-off for systems without DP Alt mode in my mind and it's one of the few that's capable of utilizing USB 2.0/3.0 ports (i.e. not requiring DP Alt mode and to a certain degree MST mode of DP 1.2/1.4) while supporting 2x 4K@60Hz simultaneously so this might be suitable for those with unique setup and/or requirements.

The dock feels very sturdy and is pretty portable. The range of ports, including USB-C PD charging, is comprehensive, catering to almost every need. I like the ability to charge devices through USB 2.0 ports. However, remember that the dock requires a DC power adapter connection for this feature. It is worth noting that the HDMI and DisplayPort options are either/or, and not simultaneous. Overall, this is a reliable dock with a variety of connections. Full marks from me!
I don't have three displays so I didn't test it this way, but I do have two displays and it works with my M2 MBA no problem. I'd like to add a Mac mini to the mix and at that time this will become more permanent on my desk.
My desk has a glass top and the rubber feet are nice and secure. Overall it's a nice looking unit as well. As nice as you'd expect I guess. I'd prefer a clean desk and not need it at all but since it's needed, at last it looks pretty slick.
Keep in mind one of them is HDMI only and one is DisplayPort only, while the third can be either.
It has 5 USB ports on the front but keep in mind 2 of them are the slower USB 2.0, which is fine for stuff like keyboards or mice but too slow for data transfer. The USB 3.0 ports were all fast though when I connected flash drives and my external SSD.
Gigabit Ethernet worked without issue. The whole unit seems to be solidly built and I’ve had no issues or glitches with it yet. If you’re looking to add more connectivity to your laptop this is a nice option, but if you don’t need the triple monitor support there are probably more affordable options out there.
