NEW HAMILTON GALLERY
At the most recent Southern Grampians Shire Council meeting, plans to move forward with the New Hamilton Gallery were endorsed, confirming intentions to build a new gallery on its current site.

Setting in motion the long-awaited aspiration for a new gallery, this project will enable Hamilton Gallery to become a game-changing cultural institution for regional Australia.

Council will now move forward to detailed design, which places the
new gallery at the heart of a broader CBD rejuvenation.
“The possibilities for the New Gallery development in this location is really promising. We know galleries attract tourists, and thus we'll see a positive economic flow in jobs and opportunities for business from tourists visiting the region, while making arts and cultural spaces accessible for everyone which will be hugely beneficial."

Southern Grampians Shire Council, Mayor Cr David Robertson
“We have an amazing collection that requires a great facility so community and visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the collection, while experiencing programs that educate, challenge, illuminate and represent our unique culture within Southern Grampians.”

Hamilton Gallery Trustee, Dr Sue Robertson
“This is an incredibly exciting announcement from Council. We are so proud of our gallery and the quality of its collection and look to the future with confidence knowing that a new build will safeguard our heritage and bring Hamilton prosperity and good fortune.”

Friends of the Hamilton Gallery President, Jacqui de Kievit

NEW EXHIBITION
Hamilton Gallery is excited to announce our new exhibition; Here and Now.

Showcasing compelling works by four local contemporary artists identifying as women; Kathryn Ryan, Jasmine Mansbridge, Anne Middleton and Madi Whyte.

Employing their own genre, medium and subject matter, these artists' converge in one place (Here). They provide important local cultural commentary to understand identity and to give insight into their unique lived experience (Now).

Each artists' distinctive visual language, fuelled by their diverse backgrounds and contrasting artistic visions, create dichotomic works that are both powerful and vulnerable.

Here and Now will open to the public Saturday 26 November and come to a close Sunday 26 February.

EXHIBITION OPENING EVENT

Saturday 10 December / 2 – 4pm

Meet the artists, hear insights into the works exhibited and enjoy light nibbles and refreshments.

A5 postcard designs can be submitted to info@hamiltongallery.org by Friday 25 November with the artist's name/pronoun, postcode, short bio and design for consideration.
TRUST SOIRÈE HIGHLIGHTS

These images of our recent Trust Soirée don't do it justice - the evening was a sublime celebration of the Hamilton Gallery Trust's recent exhibition, new acquisition and 60th Anniversary publication.

We unveiled the Trust's 60th Anniversary acquisition, Eugene von Guérard’s Mount Arapiles towards the Grampians, which we shared insights on in a special 'Open House' tour last week.

Don't worry if you missed it - we are excited to include the painting as part of an upcoming exhibition this December of iconic collection works!

You can read more about the painting in the new Trust Publication, available in hard copy at the gallery or via hamiltongallery.org/events/trust.
