About the author

Sean Botha, also known as Dr. Sean Botha, is a South African born author, composer and story teller. Sean started writing during his teenage years and never stopped. He loves getting lost in a good story, finding and building connections in any narrative. Sean finds his drive to keep creating new stories from authors like Elizabeth Gilbert, J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, and the multiple talented authors of the Star Wars Book series. His inspiration goes further than literary writers. South African artistic influences on Sean's work include the poetry of Ingrid Jonker, and vocal performers Anneli van Rooyen and Laurika Rauch.
Sean writes his work in tandem with the rhythm of his most favourite artists and at times enjoys the quiet times to pour over every last detail. It is the work of Dr. Brene Brown, Martha Beck, Elizabeth Gilbert, Mel Robbins & American Actors Will Smith & Jim Carrey who have inspired him to create his own unique voice in literature, music and film.
Sean writes for LGBTQIA+ audiences (of which he is a proud member), our neurodiverse communities and all cultures across the world. He tackles real life issues in his stories which include love, hope, trauma, domestic violence, neurodiversity and relationships. He loves creating layered story lines which speaks to all walks of life while he places main focus on the need for diversity in all narrative forms. Sean wants his community included and integrated into main stream entertainment and literature which is evident in his writing. His first novella "Against All Odds" is heavily influenced by authors Chris Bohjalian "Trans-Sistor Radio" and Ruthann Robson "The Struggle for Happiness".
Sean is currently diversifying his skills into script writing for Cinema and scoring music for Film while he creates new stories either in the form of sound or books. When he isn't creating new work, he spends time reading Star Wars books, Neuroscience & Physics literature or creating new music.
