The Navitimer: Breitling's Icon Heritage Talk


We are honored to host an inspiring Heritage Talk at Breitling's Then & Now pop-up museum. Joined by our esteemed brand historian and collector Fred Mandelbaum, we will take you through the history of one of the most famous chronographs in watchmaking: the Breitling Navitimer. Developed in 1952 as a wrist-worn flight computer, this legendary timepiece is one of the longest continuously produced wristwatches of all time.

Experience the Heritage Talk on the Breitling Emergency—a watch that can save lives—at our pop-up museum. Joined by explorer Bertrand Piccard—co-pilot of the Breitling Orbiter 3, the first balloon to complete a non-stop circumnavigation—this event explores the legacy of the Emergency, the world’s first watch equipped with an international distress beacon. Together with journalist Gerald Tubb, a specialist in the watch’s history, this evening traces its evolution as a life-saving tool for adventurers.
