Start or strengthen your yoga and meditation practice. Relax by the pool overlooking the ocean. Surf, hike, and create new friendships. Take time to reset your mind, body, and spirit.
There is nothing like trying something new while engulfed in nature, a new culture, away from life’s normal routine and responsibilities. Create cherished memories with friends, new and old, and find the space to connect with yourself in a way that may not always feel available. This week will be a balance of easeful spiritual practice, adventure and relaxation. Indulge in a beautiful setting, healthy delicious food, and plenty of good times.
We will stay at Coco Loco Eco Resort. Coco Loco was thoughtfully chosen for it’s idyllic location on the pacific coast of Nicaragua that offers the perfect surf conditions for both beginner and intermediate surfers, it’s serene open-air raised yoga shala with ocean views, as well as their commitment to the surrounding community.
Coco Loco’s mission is to utilize the benefits of tourism to promote sustainable development within their community through their non profit, Waves Of Hope. Over the past 9 years, Waves of Hope has invested over $400,000 into projects and initiatives focused on education, infrastructure, health care and the environment. During our stay we will take a community tour and participate in a few hours of service on one of Waves Of Hope’s projects.
Your day will begin with a light continental breakfast featuring homemade granola, plenty of fresh tropical fruits, yogurt, chia seeds, freshly baked breads, homemade peanut butter and of course coffee and tea. Sometime around mid-morning enjoy Coco Loco’s famous 2nd Breakfast… all of the early morning goodies plus some heavier breakfast items. A few common lunch plates served are... Grilled Veggie Hummus Salad, Coconut or Fish Ceviche w/ Pineapple-Rice, Zucchini Rolls with Cashew Nut Cheese, Roasted Veggie Pesto Sandwich on Homemade Focaccia, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Falafels. Dinner includes a light appetizer followed by the main course and dessert served every night. A few sample dinners… Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Pineapple Whip (like a homemade pineapple ice cream), Papaya Bruschetta, Raw or Veggie Lasagna, Raw Carrot Cake, Guacamole w/ Veggie Sticks, Grilled Fish or Stuffed Veggies w/ Quinoa, Raw or Baked Brownies. YUM!
“Coco Loco Eco-Resort is more than just a resort – it is a place to call home. A place to form friendships and memories. A place to deepen your practice and recharge your soul. A place to surf until you are too tired to keep paddling. A place to find inspiration in the simplest forms.
Settle into a daily yoga practice that includes a balanced blend of yoga philosophy, meditation, breathwork, and vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa simply means movement linked with breath. Whether you're brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years there will be something for you. All are welcome with open arms. Guided meditations will be offered daily that build gradually over the course of the week. My hope is that the yoga practice cultivated on this trip inspires an appreciation for quiet moments of presence, a shift in the body, and perhaps a spark of interest in eastern spiritual traditions that leaves you wanting more.
Included in your stay is one Surf coaching session led by a qualified team of surf instructors. Keep it at one or surf all week adding as many lessons as you like or simply renting a board for the week… And we have an action packed week of excursions for you as well!
Volcan Telica Twilight Tour ~ Telica is one of the wildest and most active of Nicaragua’s volcanoes. With experienced guides we will hike to the craters edge of the Volcano before taking in the sunset overlooking sweeping mountain views.
Mangrove Boat Tour ~ Hop on board for a wakeboarding adventure through the mangroves. Not up for wakeboarding? Enjoy the boat ride with sweeping views of a nearby volcano. This tour ends with a beautiful beach sunset for the perfect balance of nature and fun.
Karma Activity for Waves of Hope ~ come together as a group and spend a few hours completing a project at one of the community's nearby schools. This is a heartfelt and rewarding experience and for some ends up being the highlight of their week.
Add-ons ~ After you’ve arrived decide if you would like to partake in possible additional excursions or enjoy a 60 minute massage (or many!).
Want more hammock time? No problem. If one or more of the above excursions doesn't interest you just let me know ahead of time. However, keep in mind that if you're feeling nervous about trying a new activity you'll receive an abundance of support. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.
