As residents of Wyndham City, we are witnessing an unprecedented growth in our community. With 13 babies born daily in Wyndham and people moving here due to affordable housing, our population has grown from 288,000 in 2020 and is expected to reach 512,500 by 2041. This rapid expansion calls for the necessary infrastructure to support our growing area.

One such area that needs immediate attention is transportation within the Harpley estate soon to be home to over 12,000 and Mambourin estate 3,500 residents and Cornerstone estate with no bus services available; some individuals have no choice but to walk over forty minutes or two kilometers - a distance that is simply inaccessible for many.

We propose the implementation of a Flexiride Bus Service similar to the one operating successfully in Tarneit North and Melton South. This service would provide sustainable and flexible transportation options for all residents while increasing access to education, work and recreational activities. The introduction of this service could also contribute significantly towards creating a more robust economy by increasing resident participation in employment.

Moreover, it would improve overall well-being of residents by reducing dependence on cars thus reducing congestion on our roads and contributing positively towards environmental sustainability.

We believe that implementing such a service will not only cater for current needs but also future-proof Harpley and surrounding estates against further population growth. We urge state and federal government's to consider this proposal seriously as we strive together towards building an inclusive community where everyone has equal access opportunities.
