KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Ramli Mohd Noh has issued a warning to Hulu Langat MP Mohd Sany Hamzan for calling another lawmaker “uncivilised” (tidak beradab).

Sany (PH-Hulu Langat) was heard saying that Datuk Seri Shahidan Kasim (PN-Arau) was uncivilised after the latter asked a question to Deputy Human Resources Minister Mustapha Sakmud during the Oral Question and Answer session.

Mustapha had said that the question had already been answered by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the premier had said that he was willing to talk to anyone as long as the discussion was done in a civil manner.

Sany then interjected saying that “Arau is uncivilised, he called a person a fool yesterday.”

A brief shouting match was heard in the background despite the microphones being turned off.

This prompted Ramli to issue a first warning to the lawmaker.

Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) then said too many warnings have been issued against Sany, and a harsher penalty was now warranted.

“It has been going on every day. There have been too many warnings given to this MP. What is so special about Hulu Langat,” he said.

Taking note of Kiandee’s remark, Ramli said he would record every warning issued.

“For now, this is the first warning for Hulu Langat. I will not give any more leeway once it reaches the third warning. This applies to both Opposition and government MPs,” he added.

Sany and Shahidan were also seen having heated exchanges during the Prime Minister Question Time on Tuesday (June 6).
