The truth about hiring

The truth about hiring
I have done a lot (and I mean a lot) of hiring over the last 15 years of being in leadership roles. Most of it focused on salespeople - which means also a lot of firing/turnover. This is the book I wish I had 15 years ago. No one ever taught me how to hire, what to look for, what really matters and the little things (like both sides of the hiring proicess are lying - see chapter 45).If you are in a hiring role - then this is a must read and will be your guide for avoiding lots of the mistakes people make through trial and error. If you are looking for a job, or want to change jobs - this book is for you too. It will help you be a better candidate - the one that companies will actually want to hire for the right reasons.

If you're interviewing for a dream job (or if you own a small or mid-size company with hiring challenges) this guide is an absolute must.

Steve Urban has assembled a fun, useful read filled with kernels of wisdom about work, finding work, hiring teams, and taking risks. I found myself muttering "yup...yup...props...that's right" throughout. More importantly, I came across countless useful and pragmatic business insights that were new to me.

The book is well-written and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
