Participants of the Global Youth Summit 2024 will gain invaluable access to over 1300 Changemakers in Global Changemakers’ international network and become eligible for grant funding to bring their impactful projects to life.

Global Changemakers is an international youth organization with a mission to support youth in creating positive change towards fairer, more just, and sustainable communities. Global Changemakers achieves this through skills development, capacity building, mentoring, and grants.

Over the years, Global Changemakers has trained over 50,000 young people from over 190 countries and provided grants to 500 youth-led projects in partnership with organizations such as the Shawn Mendes Foundation, impacting over 16 million lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expenses and Funding Eligibility

For Changemakers selected from outside South Africa, Global Changemakers will cover the flight to and from your country’s main airport, transport within South Africa, food, and accommodation for the duration of the summit. For Changemakers already in South Africa, transport to the summit venue and other expenses will be covered.

Non-Covered Expenses

Changemakers requiring a visa to enter South Africa will need to arrange and pay for their visa at their own expense, although Global Changemakers will provide supporting invitation documents. Additionally, participants must provide proof of health and accident insurance covering the summit duration in South Africa.

Why an Application Fee?

The application fee, constituting less than 0.5% of the average cost per person at the summit, ensures inclusivity by offsetting major expenses for selected Changemakers. Any surplus from fees contributes to Global Changemakers’ grant funding pool, supporting future initiatives. It underscores applicants’ commitment to participating in the summit and Global Changemakers’ global network of Changemakers.

Refund Policy

Application fees are nonrefundable. However, unsuccessful applicants receive a discount code for Global Changemakers’ Project Management for Changemakers course, enhancing their skills and eligibility for grant funding.

Language Requirement

Proficiency in English is essential, as all summit sessions will be conducted in English.

Age Eligibility

Applicants must be 21-29 years old at the time of the summit.

Video Application Guidelines
