The Silver Lining Project

THE SILVER LINING PROJECT (TSLP) MALAYSIA

The Silver Lining Project Malaysia is a community initiative strongly supported by Yayasan Hasanah (impact-based foundation of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah), the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia) to restore and preserve the greatness of Malaysian heritage through traditional textiles, metal crafts and performing arts to its once opulent glory while cultivating the next wave of world class master artisans proudly representing the country on the global stage.

TRIPLE TARGET BLUEPRINT

1. THE STUDY

The Silver Lining Project (TSLP) Malaysia involves the crucial step of archiving the best practices shared by the industry experts and master artisans. The archive will then be used as reference for the apprentices to continue the legacy of the identified Malaysian heritage for this project; traditional textiles, metal crafts and performing arts.

2. THE SHOWCASE

The essence of the heritage assets shall be showcased through an immersive 360-degree experience through targeted events, partnership programmes and series of curated workshops, with the aim to improve awareness, create opportunities and enable economic empowerment for the crafts.

3. THE SOCIAL IMPACT

Building a sustainable and supportive ecosystem for heritage preservation is crucial, and that is what we are trying to achieve through TSLP. This entails providing continuous support through digital platforms and leveraging technology to nurture world-class artisans, preserve their knowledge, and cultivate awareness. By spreading this message effectively, we also hope to generate ongoing demand for our cause.
