Project description

This project will develop a novel software and data platform, comprising nationally representative synthetic EMR data, to enable safe and ethical Australian innovation in clinical artificial intelligence.

Research environment

The Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC) is a leading digital health research centre based at The University of Queensland (UQ). QDHeC is generating new research and innovation to speed up the translation of new knowledge to improve healthcare. QDHeC is working with six UQ faculties, external partners and consumers to create a learning health system which harnesses the power of digital solutions.

Scholarship

This project is supported by the Research project scholarship.

This scholarship includes:

  • living stipend of $35,000 per annum tax free (2024 rate), indexed annually
  • tuition fees covered.

This scholarship includes:

Preferred educational background

Your application will be assessed on a competitive basis.

We take into account your:

  • previous academic record
  • publication record
  • honours and awards
  • employment history.

A working knowledge of machine learning and particularly deep learning would be of benefit to someone working on this project.

You will demonstrate academic achievement in the field(s) of machine learning applications in health and medicine and the potential for scholastic success.

A background or knowledge of generative machine learning models and electronic medical records is highly desirable.
