Story
Mels Chippy in Penygroes Wales has been selling £1 meals since the start of the school holidays, which consists of main meal, a portion of chips, a drink and a portion of fruit.
They have now sold over 320 meals since the 25th July.
They have been able to continue to offer the meals thanks to donations from customers and local businesses.
The cost of living crisis has effected so many people and with little to no government initiatives they are doing their small bit for the local community.

8 months agoWe as a community have been blown away by the generosity and show of support thats been recieved far and wide. It's in times such as these that such warmth and kind wishes mean so much. We are greatful to every single person who has taken time to message support & send donations for what Sarah and Mel have been doing. In just under 24hrs we smashed our 1st target of £500 towards keeping the summer holiday scheme going so we raised it to £1000 with hope that for winter we might be able to also look at providing meals for the elder & vulnerable
