Johor to table state budget on Nov 23, says MB

JOHOR BARU: The Johor Budget 2024 is expected to be tabled on Nov 23, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Mentri Besar said among the issues that would be given focus in the budget announcement next month is food security.

“Looking at the ongoing climate change, which will not be going away any time soon, food security will be one of our focuses.

“The state government will also continue working with the Federal Government to ensure Johor’s position as a food bank,” he told reporters after attending a Jualan Rahmah programme at Hospital Sultan Ismail’s parking lot here on Friday (Oct 20).

Onn Hafiz added that he would be meeting Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu next week to discuss the matter further before the state budget announcement.

He also said the state government supported the Jualan Rahmah programme as it provides the people, especially those from the lower-income group, the opportunity to buy subsidised items such as eggs, cooking oil and chicken.
