My only criticism is the wiring instructions. The paper instructions in the box show wiring the device using a light bulb symbol and this is where it gets confusing. All light bulb sockets for safety are wired such that the hot is the tip of the bulb socket and the sides are the neutral, so you never get a shock or short when twisting in a screw bulb. Assuming that standard the instructions show the CT installed on the neutral wire when clamp type meters clamp the hot. To make matters a bit more confusing the wiring diagram on the back of the device shows the CT clamped on the hot. Apparently, this device doesn't care about polarity when wiring either the AC or the CT.
My gas furnace is connected to the generator circuit.
My sump pump is connected to the generator circuit.
The display monitors the load that is being carried by the generator.
It allows me to connect other items such as lighting, freezer, cooking appliances, and entertainment units. I can then allocate which items can be hooked to my 7500 watts generator. I normally only allow the generator to supply 5000 watts. It saves the math and is probably more accurate.

Installed it to monitor the power consumption of my 2024 Volvo XC60 recharge.
Not difficult to install, the plastic case and the split CT is not robust but if you treat it gently, not a problem.
I mounted it to the wall next to the 240 volt outlet using velcro tape since the unit is light plastic.
The display is very bright, no problems reading it offering you important information.
As for the split CT, it should clip fine to the wire. To make sure it wouldn't accidentally open, I used a plastic wire tie.
The split CT wires were not long enough for my application but I extended it an additional three feet using a cheap extension chord wire with no problems. I crimped the splice but you can also solder them for a mechanically secure connection.
The manual is a little confusing but if you follow the schematic you can easily figure it out.
Just remember that for the unit to the unit to do its thing, it must be supplied with whatever voltage you're trying to measure. In my case it was 240 volts. Make sure you properly isolate the wires to avoid getting zapped.
My take; it's plenty of bang for the buck and very useful if you want to know how much is costing you in energy to run your appliances.

Mounted it in a plastic electronics box with short M+F extension power leads, and so far it works great.
Will have to get some more as I will have to separate some of my inverters so that the input doesn't go over 10 amps on the leads. It's great that you can turn off the backlight. Stuart (Australia)

The code displays current information including voltage, current, power, energy, and power factor for multiple PZEM modules. It also displays the present and last user defined interval. I am using 15 minute intervals. Also today’s and previous day’s information are displayed. The log is saved to a Comma Separated Variable (CSV) file which can be imported to a spreadsheet or used with the example Python plotting script. Options are provided to log the data to other databases. It will also publish the data using MQTT.
I started out with one PZEM module and made a portable setup with an outlet and power cord that I can move from one appliance to another to see how much energy was being used. I then realized the tremendously huge value of full time monitoring of sump pumps, pool pumps, etc. and placed one module for each pump motor, air conditioner, etc. The RS-485 low voltage twisted pair wiring makes it easy to put the PZEM devices up to 300 meters (1,000 feet) from the RPi. Installation of the current transformer was as simple as attaching the split-core current transformer around a wire. Line voltage is needed as well. Very simple for those familiar with electricity, but I would recommend that you contact an electrician if you don’t know how to use electricity safely. The measured values compared very favorably to another power meter that I had.
There are several alert algorithms. One is a basic self-learning algorithm which I use with my sump pump to detect a frozen over outside discharge pipe. The other is a manual configuration of limit levels which I use with a pool pump as the power consumed varies depending on when I last cleaned the pool filter. It is an open source Python project on GitHub so collaboration and recommendations for new algorithms are encouraged.
I would highly recommend the PZEM module. Shipment was fast. Great product!
