On my MCIOB achievement (1) Lessons learnt! No matter what you intend to do whether a small or big project, planning is key! I always had the dream of achieving the best and available prefessional certifications in my field whether home or abroad. No matter how expensive or difficult it seems to be, I prepare and put my heart to it These are important keys to note ✍️ Planning/Research - I made research on what was required to achieve my goal. Wrote them down, the requirements. What I had and what I needed to get. I attended online seminars and workshops where I gleaned from people's experience It is important you have read and made research so when you aske to be mentored, you have something to contribute and not just expect to be spoon-fed all through. People want to see the effort you've made! ✍️ Mentorship - I drew out a list and started reaching out to people who had achieved what I wanted. Note : in reaching out to people to ask for help, some will ignore you, some will offer to help, some will tell you what is irrelevant to you. Some will even unintentionally discourage you. (I'll talk about this in another post) Also be ready to PAY for professional services rendered ! Don't be discouraged! Don't feel entitled. Keep asking. I remembered reaching out to someone for guidance and the person responded months after I had submitted my application and gotten my confirmation . I appreciated the fellow and moved on. ✍️ Timeline - it is very important to give deadline or Timeline for any thing you set to achieve Why? It creates a sense of urgency to finish up what you've started However I need to let you know, sometimes you exceed your timeline! Don't give up. Dust yourself up and go for it I hope you learnt something? let me know in the comment section. .... To be continued #mciob #ciob #constructionmanager #sitemanager
