As the Chief Executive Officer my primary focus is on our ability to consistently deliver the highest quality patient experience to every patient that walks through our doors. We focus on providing the best environment, the most experienced staff and the latest technology to our surgeons allowing them to deliver top quality care to all of our patients.

At our hospital you will find a professional, warm and caring environment where our dedicated team pride ourselves on treating patients with dignity and compassion, maintaining our philosophy that an excellent patient experience comes from good communication, attentive clinical care and going above and beyond to exceed expectations.

We aim to provide superior facilities over and above those that you would find in any other hospital through our ongoing refurbishment program of patient rooms, communal areas and clinical work areas. We work closely with our surgeons to ensure you have access to the latest surgical instruments and technologies and as a result we are known for many Australian surgical firsts such as the first hysterectomy via a single site incision. Furthermore we believe that success comes through recognising the value of people and encouraging creativity and diversity in our staff through regular staff training.

Most importantly we appreciate that safety and cleanliness are absolutely paramount for you in the service you receive here. We continually work closely with our infection control staff to ensure that our infection rates are exceptionally low compared with a national average.

I am proud to have been part of the ‘Westmead Private Hospital’ team since its opening in 2000. With over 30 years’ experience, I have worked in various clinical and managerial roles. The most recent being as Perioperative Services Manager, allowing me to develop a wealth of knowledge and expertise from a surgical, medical and managerial perspective.

As the Director of Clinical Services my top priority is to oversee the clinical activities of the hospital to ensure our patients consistently receive the highest level of personalised and expert clinical care from our dedicated nursing teams.

I believe team work is critical to our success and this would not be possible without the incredible band of people working at our facility, who value our patients, their safety, their recovery and their dignity; from our doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, to our volunteers and those that work behind the scenes.

Patient feedback is paramount to our success, so I encourage all staff members to collect, analyse and reflect on the feedback received on their Ward. We value the opportunity to hear your suggestions for improvement and/or compliments and use this to continually review opportunities to improve working processes and the overall patient experience.

I was appointed as the Director of Finance at Westmead Private Hospital in August 2015. Prior to my appointment I had many years of experience working for the Ramsay Health Care Internal Auditing team allowing me to gain a rare insight into a diverse range of hospital processes and activities thus bringing with me a unique perspective, which I believe will be invaluable resource to the already highly skilled executive team. Since joining the hospital I am proud to have been associated with the two developments completed in that time and our Stage 3 development which is due to commence shortly.

My key responsibilities include management of the financial and non-clinical aspects of the hospitals ongoing operations.
