Excited to be a part of my first #RSCPoster and #RSCEnv at the RSC conference 2024, where we'll be presenting our research on "Exploration of time series model for predictive evaluation of long-term performance of membrane distillation desalination." This study tackles the challenges faced in membrane distillation (MD), especially regarding membrane wetting, which significantly impacts long-term performance. Through the utilization of machine learning (ML) techniques, we have developed an ARIMA-based framework to accurately forecast MD performance. Our model exhibits high accuracy in predicting water and salt flux, crucial for early detection of membrane wetting, thereby enhancing overall MD efficiency and effluent quality. I am thankful for the guidance and support of my supervisors Dr. Ashutosh Singh and my colleague Dr. Saikat Sinha Ray. For further insights, please refer to our published article at https://lnkd.in/gVBWwU-W. Join us in revolutionizing industry standards at #RSCPoster #RSCEnv @Royal Society of Chemistry Shiv Nadar University

Imagine if battery researchers could see what happens inside a battery while it is running. You’d think you’d need X-ray vision… 😵💫 Science fiction aside, laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh are using Malvern Panalytical’s Empyrean X-ray diffractometers to drive advances in battery technology. In the Kumta lab, the Empyrean enables researchers to look at battery tech at the crystalline level 🔋 Malvern Panalytical is powering innovation that will lead to better, safer, and more efficient batteries. I am happy to announce the publication of our latest research paper titled "Phenol degradation using combined effects of hydrodynamic cavitation and oxidant: Doehlert matrix", spearheaded by Dr. Ashish Mohod, my fellow post-doctoral colleague at PEQ-EPUSP, and now Assistant Professor at AISSMS College of Engineering. His work was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Reinaldo Giudici and Prof. Antonio Carlos Teixeira. This research, published today at the Environmental Quality Management journal, explores an innovative hydrodynamic cavitation (HC) based treatment for phenol degradation, optimizing it using a novel application of Doehlert experimental design. The approach marks a substantial advancement from previous methodologies, as is based on a patented system designed by Dr. Mohod. The study delves into the optimization of degradation parameters, including hydraulic characteristics of the pump, inlet pressure, solution pH, and initial concentration. A subsequent investigation unravels the critical dependence of phenol degradation on the pH of the solution and the role of acidic conditions in promoting the formation of hydroxyl radicals, hence aiding the degradation process. Key findings include an impressive 94% phenol degradation and a 69% total organic carbon (TOC) removal within just 180 minutes of treatment. The optimized parameters yielded a notably low treatment cost of US$ 0.13 per liter, showcasing the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of the HC technology. The successful application of Doehlert DoE in this investigationemphasizes its potential as a pragmatic approach for designing efficient treatment solutions. This research exemplifies our ongoing commitment to leveraging advanced engineering principles for sustainable environmental solutions. I extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Mohod and my fellow co-authors for the opportunity to collaborate in this research field. This research paper is not just an academic milestone but also a significant step towards a cleaner, more sustainable environment. 😁 Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dESgZdzW #Research #Sustainability #Environment #PhenolDegradation #HydrodynamicCavitation #AISSMS #PoliUSP #usp

🔬🌟 Exciting Journey in DMFC Research Project & Project Presentation! 🌟🔬 Last week marked a remarkable milestone as I proudly presented the culmination of months of hard work – my final dissertation presentation on "Catalyst & Membrane of Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC)" which we must present in 8 minutes. 📚🔬 Collaborating closely with my talented peers, this journey wouldn't have been possible without the exceptional guidance of my supervisor, Shangfeng Du, and co-supervisor, Dr. Milon Miah, Ph.D. Their unwavering support and mentorship have been instrumental in shaping this endeavor. 🙏✨ In my presentation, I delved into the intricacies of DMFC, catalyst, and membrane technology. I shared insights on the synthesis of our catalyst and the activation process of the membrane using Nafion-115. Our journey then led to crafting the membrane electrode assembly and rigorously following standard operating procedures to rigorously test our MEA. 🧪💡 The finale encompassed the unveiling of our findings and charted the course for future advancements. 📊🔮 The journey was a true joy, filled with collaborative lab work alongside my peers. It provided me with the golden opportunity to immerse myself in the intricacies of DMFC technology. This presentation not only showcased my prowess in public speaking but also highlighted my prowess in teamwork, research, and data analysis. 🌐🔍💬 I hope you found my presentation engaging and enlightening. Your thoughts matter, and I'd love to hear your feedback, insights, and suggestions. 🗣️🤝 #FuelCellResearch #AcademicJourney #InnovationInEnergy #Teamwork #PresentationSkills
