BANGI: The high-level PKR meeting at Seri Perdana on Saturday (June 24) was just a "normal meeting", says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"It was a normal meeting and briefing," the Prime Minister said when met after launching Rakan Muda at Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak in Universiti Kebangasaan Malaysia (UKM) on Sunday (June 25).
Anwar, who is PKR president, said the meeting was also to keep abreast of current political developments.
It is learnt that the two-hour meeting, which lasted till noon at Seri Perdana, among others, was to discuss the coming state elections.
The meeting comes as PKR plans to hold a special briefing in Kuala Lumpur on the party's preparedness in facing the coming polls.
On Saturday, PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the special briefing will be attended by the party's top leadership including PKR elected representatives.
The briefing is said to be on seat distribution and respective duties of the party's election machinery during the polls.
The states of Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu were likely to hold the elections simultaneously following the dissolution of their respective states assemblies.
On Saturday (June 24), Anwar, who is Pakatan Harapan chairman, suggested that the state elections in six states could be held in August.
