Four Cougars Earn CSC Academic All-District Accolades

PULLMAN, Wash. (April 3, 2024) – Four Washington State Swimmers were named CSC Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators.
 
WSU had four selections for the second straight season as senior Josie Liebzeit, junior Samantha Krew and sophomores Emily Lundgren and Anna Rauchholz each received the honor recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Lundgren and Rauchholz were also selected to the Academic All-America ballot.
 
Liebzeit, a senior from Lakewood, Calif., owns a 4.00 cumulative GPA while majoring in environmental science, is a two-time Pac-12 Conference Academic Honor Roll selection was named the November WSU Academic Services Female Student-Athlete of the Month.
 
Krew has posted a 3.94 GPA while majoring in neuroscience and was a part of three relay wins, once on the 200 medley relay win at Utah, twice on the 400 free relay at the Fresno State Invite and against UCLA and also recorded a WSU Top-10 time in the 200 fly (Ninth, 2:01.99).
 
Lundgren, a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier and 2024 All-American Honorable Mention selection in the pool, is a native of Chula Vista, Calif. who owns a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Digital Technology and Culture. Lundgren capped her sophomore campaign earning the program's first All-American honor since 2007 after finishing 14th in the country in the 200 Breast at the 2024 NCAA Championships. Lundgren claimed two medals at the Pac-12 Conference Championships after finishing second in the Pac-12 in the 100 breast and third in the 200 breast.
 
Rauchholz is a sophomore from Portland, Ore. who owns a 3.91 GPA while majoring in biochemistry. Rauchholz recorded three individual wins in the 100 back capped the season with a school-record in the 100 back, winning the "B" final at the Pac-12 Conference Championships.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 23, 2024.
