She co-founded ‘Infopunt Proefdieronderzoek’ a collective that aims to facilitate understanding and informed conversations on the use of animals in research.

Matthias Meersschaert

Belgian Climate Centre

Matthias Meersschaert holds a Master's degree in Philosophy and postgraduate degrees in Macro-Economics and Communication. His expertise in effectively communicating sensitive topics became clear during his previous role where he advocated for nuclear technology. In 2023, he joined the Belgian Climate Centre, where he combines this prior experience with his keen interest in climate, energy, innovation, and sustainability. In his current role, he oversees all communication activities at the Belgian Climate Centre. He faces challenges such as addressing climate change deniers, eco-anxiety, and effectively conveying a concerning message while striving to maintain a positive and hopeful tone.
