Klepsydra is pleased to announce the successful completion of the second phase of AI performance benchmarks on the "Intel Cyclone V FPGA SoC" in preparation for our upcoming In-Orbit-Demonstration on OPSSAT, which utilizes this onboard processor. Our benchmarking involved running quantized versions of the OBPMark-ML CME model on a native YOCTO setup. The results demonstrate significant improvements: - A 30% reduction in latency - A noteworthy 20% reduction in power consumption These achievements mark a significant step towards our first in-orbit demonstration. Quantum Error Correction (QEC) has undergone a profound transformation, evolving from a theoretical concept into a practical reality. ETH Zürich [1] and Google [2] have showcased impressive QEC results using superconducting qubits. Early QEC demonstrations relied on offline decoding, meaning measurement results were collected and decoding occurred later, possibly days or weeks later. However, the prerequisites for practical quantum computers extend beyond the establishment of dependable logical quantum memories. It becomes imperative to transition towards real-time decoding for each discrete logical operation to ascertain its reliability before advancing to subsequent tasks.
