My vision for launching Link Elevating Philanthropy 7 years ago - to empower not just purpose-driven organizations, but INDIVIDUALS as well, with greater philanthropic power. Human rights are essential privileges that everyone should be entitled to, regardless of their origin, nationality, or religious convictions. A just and inclusive society must prioritize protecting minorities' rights. The distinctive needs, experiences, and contributions of minority groups must be acknowledged and respected. By protecting minorities' rights to equality, non-discrimination, freedom of speech, and involvement in decision-making, we can empower them. Respecting variety improves harmony and social cohesiveness. We may work toward a world where everyone is treated with decency, fairness, and respect, regardless of their membership in a minority, by respecting the human rights of minorities. CHANGE Philanthropy recently released the third Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals (DAPP) Report. As a CHANGE partner, we’re excited to share our second Indigenous Philanthropic Professionals (IPP) report as a supplement to CHANGE Philanthropy’s DAPP report, with particular emphasis on Indigenous professionals in the sector. Native Americans in Philanthropy was founded on the principle of inclusion. Ensuring the presence of Indigenous individuals in the field is of utmost importance, as it brings a unique perspective to the goals and objectives of philanthropy. Understanding the representation of Indigenous Peoples in the sector—both in terms of quantity and proportion—is crucial. This report is not meant to be merely shelved, but rather serves as an opportunity to confront systemic issues within the sector.
