Help Miss Elena rebuild her home

Miss Elena, a life long resident of San Pedro, has had a very rough time of it. She is a blind, diabetic grandmother who is housing her 3 grandchildren while helping to raise them. Her daughter Melanie, was unable to care for her children and passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago. Then yesterday, someone set fire to her home and destroyed everything they owned, with the exception of one smoke-damaged mattress.

We are working with the local Town Council to try to improve her family's housing situation - whether we rebuild on the current spot, or find them another housing option and assist them with rent and "starting over" expenses such as shoes & clothing, household goods and such. Many apartments here do not come with a refrigerator or stove, which adds a significant cost to moving expenses.

We would greatly appreciate it if you can assist us in our efforts to help Miss Elena's family with their recent hardships. As we make decisions with regards to their housing, we will keep donors posted with what decisions are made, actions are taken and the costs involved.
