A few years ago in my last company’s context a major banking American institution delivered us the study of evolution share price value of industrial companies that willingly and boldly adopted digital in their business operation and product design areas. It showed quite convincing depencies. That reinforced at the time innovation and investment strategies with digital ambitions with rationals coming from this premium US investment player. One could see about the same context happening here with impact and sustainability this time impacting on ability to transform employees engagement, new product and legitimacy, etc. (Painful simplification here, just to illustrate my point). When it is raining outside, sit in a cafe and get mathematical! Hunting that economics Nobel for fixing the innovation problem ;) has led me to the conclusion I need some maths in the progress economy - or at least a way of nicely defining what innovation means in the various models of value I’m playing with - value-in-exchange, value-in-use, and value-through-progress. So here’s a first look. And I can’t complain, it does help sharpen the thoughts. But my progress economy thinking is clearly still work in progress (at least mathematically!)
