Mohammad Samawat Ullah is a 2013 Commonwealth Shared Scholar from Bangladesh. Samawat is currently studying for a Masters in Internet Systems and E-Business at Durham University.
Samawat has been elected as the President of Ustinov College GCR (Graduate Common Room) at Durham and is the first Bangladeshi student to hold the role. As President, Samawat is responsible for representing fellow students to the College, University and the wider community, as well as acting as a point of contact for all GCS members. He will also be involved in various committees and events within the College, providing a fantastic opportunity to support other students.
Samawat has also contributed to the Ustinov newsletter, to share his experiences of coming to the UK to complete his degree.
