I’m not defending my post as Bersatu president, says Muhyiddin


SHAH ALAM: Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that he will not be defending his post in the next party polls to be held next year.

The former prime minister said this in his policy speech at Bersatu’s 6th annual general meeting (AGM) held at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) here Friday (Nov 24).

"I will not defend my post in the next party polls. This is to make way for the next leadership to take over.

"The senior leadership should discuss the takeover. Take care of the party," said Muhyiddin.

Delegates protested the decision of Muhyiddin, before they were told to calm down by the chairman.
