Crocus city hall attack (Moscow)

A deadly assault at the Crocus City concert venue last Friday claimed the lives of 137 individuals. The Tass news agency reported that Tajikistan nationals were involved, and they've been taken into custody for a preliminary two-month period, as determined in a court session on Sunday. Footage from the court showcased one accused being escorted in handcuffs, and images displayed another seated in the defendant's enclosure. A blindfolded suspect was seen in the room, his bruising evident upon its removal. Another arrived in a wheelchair.

The accused, Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Dalerdzhon Barotovich Mirzoyev, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Muhammadsobir Fayzov, admitted to their involvement in a group-led terror attack that ended tragically in loss of life. Their admission was shared by the Tass agency. On the same day, ISIS released a video verifying their role in the massacre, despite Russia’s pointing fingers at Ukraine, an accusation which Kyiv rejects.

This event marks the most severe ISIS-affirmed assault in Europe and the greatest in Russia since the 2004 Beslan crisis. The video released by ISIS's Amaq news depicted the assailants killing numerous individuals. One attacker was heard instructing another to show no mercy.
President Vladimir Putin mentioned that 11 individuals were detained in connection to the incident, including the four attackers. A video by Russia's investigative body showed the accused, blindfolded, being brought into the agency’s building. Russia honored those lost with a national day of mourning on Sunday, as injuries climbed to 154 with critical conditions suggesting the death toll might rise.
Residents laid flowers and mementos at the Crocus City Hall, while local services continued to search the wrecked site for survivors or additional victims. President Putin commemorated the deceased by lighting a candle in a church at his Moscow residence.

Foreign embassies in Moscow, including those of the US, the UK, and the Netherlands, lowered their flags in respect, gesturing solidarity despite escalating Ukraine-related tensions.
During a court hearing, all four suspects were ordered to remain in custody. Meanwhile, Putin asserted, with no proof, that Ukraine facilitated a terrorist transit into their country, a claim strongly denied by Kyiv amid fears of increased conflict escalation.
The United States has indicated that intelligence points to ISIS operating independently, dismissing any involvement by Ukraine, as confirmed by National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson
