Thirty years ago, some kids and teachers started converting gas cars to Electric Vehicles out in a rural Northampton County high school. Their unexpected success changed the lives of those involved and showed how students could excel when given the chance.
Anyone that was involved in the EV program over the years – from Northampton-East, Northampton-West, Weldon, and Northwest Halifax High Schools – and all the other people connected are invited to reflect on our work that started in the 1990s and continued through the 2000s, and kickoff a new sustainable transportation education program in North Carolina.
