Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my story! 

I am a secondary school teacher and I have taught PE over the last 4 years. Over the last 18 months I have had 3 students in my school that have battled with cancer. 

Every day 7 young people aged between 13 and 24 hear the words "you have cancer". 

In such devastating times, these teenagers and young adults are strong, brave and infectiously positive and they are such an inspiration, all whilst battling through this awful disease. Having taught 3 students whilst battling cancer, they have always had a smile on their face and are always enthusiastic about up coming fixtures / clubs or PE lessons. They talk about their experience with cancer in such a positive light and want to do all they can to raise awareness and to support others. I am in ore of how thoughtful, kind and brave they are. 

These strong individuals have inspired me to raise awareness and to raise money to support Teenage Cancer Trust. Cancer is the leading cause of death in teenagers and young adults and this charity aims to provide them with the best possible care and treatment so that they can continue to living their lives as best as possible. Teenage Cancer Trust can give the teenagers and young people the support and encouragement they need to feel confident when they are going through the biggest changes. Cancer can change your physical appearance when undergoing such a lot of treatment. These physical changes for young people can make them feel under-confident and this charity supports and provides endless amounts of re-assurance so that these young people feel comfortable in their own skin.

This is why I am so passionate to raise awareness of this fantastic charity and want to raise as much as I can to help as many young people through their most challenging times.
