PETALING JAYA: The three people arrested by police at the Idaman Apartment are not linked to the ongoing investigation into the murder of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.

When contacted on Wednesday (Dec 13), Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that three people had been arrested, adding that they were detained for drug use.

"Coincidentally, the three tested positive for drugs when we did the mass DNA screening, so we detained them to conduct further urine tests," he said.

Comm Hussein added that the three are not linked to the ongoing murder investigation.

On the murder investigations, Comm Hussein said that several items detected during the second "door to door" inspections might be able to assist investigators but added that further analysis is required.

"We need to analyze all of these discoveries and we are still collecting enough evidence," he said.

Another sweep at the apartments was conducted on Tuesday (Dec 12) night, with forensics police seen carrying out two boxes.

Police had also pumped out river water from where the body was discovered on Tuesday in order to comb for more clues.

Zayn Rayyan, a six-year-old autistic boy, was found dead about 34 hours after his reported disappearance.

His body was discovered on Dec 6 in a river near his home at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai at about 10pm.

Based on a post-mortem, police said he is believed to have been murdered.
